Using a ridiculous amount of movement, Clay Guida frustrated former PRIDE lightweight champion Takanori Gomi, getting him to the ground in the second before securing a fight-winning guillotine choke late in the round.
Guida worked a lot of movement, jumping in and out, in and out continuously. Guida landed two punches and a glancing head kick. Gomi, though, was able to fend of Guida's takedown attempts. Guida, though, finally landed a takedown in the final minute after another high body kick/takedown combo, riding out the first round on top. Gomi landed almost no offense in the first round.
Second round saw more of the same. Gomi landed a short right early, but Guida started to find a home for his shots as the round progressed. Gomi finally hit Guida with a nice knee but Guida was able to catch it on the way out and take Gomi down. Eventually, Guida worked into a guillotine choke, flipped Gomi over and solicited the tap.
The official time was 4:27.
The win is Guida's third in a row.
