Former UFC middleweight Kalib Starnes and 2007 ADCC Open Division winner Robert Drysdale were victorious Saturday at Armageddon Fighting Championships 3 in Victoria, British Columbia, reports.

Starnes won the AFC middleweight championship by submitting Nick Hinchliffe by armbar in the first round. The tap came at 3:49 of the opening frame. The win moves Starnes' record to 3-2 since leaving the UFC in April 2008 with all three wins coming by submission.

Hinchliffe drops to 15-6 with the loss.

Drysdale, making his professional mixed martial arts debut, made quick work of Bastien Huveneers, submitting the now 8-3-1 fighter with an arm-triangle choke in 72 seconds.
