Thiago Alves Looking To Return at UFC 114

New, 2 comments

That's what he says via his twitter account:

Leaving the hospital going back back to fll! 114 its looking good!!! I'm back soo happy thanks God! And all u guys! Osu!

Alves just had brain surgery to repair a faulty vessel this past week as that caused him to pull out of his scheduled showdown with Jon Fitch at UFC 111 that took place last weekend.  UFC 114 will take place on May 29th, which would give Thiago Alves ample time to prepare to fight on this event.  The word is he and his camp still want the Fitch fight, and realistically that's the only fight out there for him that makes sense now.  However, Fitch just went  three rounds with Ben Saunders at UFC 111.  So I'm not sure they would take the Alves fight on May 29th.  The UFC 114 card is scheduled to be headlined by the grudge match between Rampage Jackson and Rashad Evans.  Here's the other portion of the rumored card:

-Forrest Griffin vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira

-Michael Bisping vs. Dan Miller

-Amir Sadollah vs. Dong Hyun Kim

-Efrain Escudero vs. Dan Lauzon

-Melvin Guillard vs. Thiago Tavares

-Cyrille Diabete vs. Luiz Cane

-Todd Duffee vs. Mike Russow

-Joe Brammer vs. Aaron Riley

There will be no title fight, so a Fitch/Alves match up would be a nice addition to the Jackson/Evans and Griffin/Nogueira fights.  What say you?
