That's the world according to Dana White:
"What we do in these situations, we have a better grasp of what's going to happen in a UFC pay-per-view," he told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today. "We can actually almost nail the number on what we think we're going to do.
"This is our first time doing this, so we don't know how this is going to do. But yeah, the WEC fighters on this card will make more money than they've ever made before."White said it would be "terrible" if Saturday's pay-per-view buy rate did not double the numbers of April 3's boxing match between Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones, Jr., which reportedly drew 90,000 buys.
I've always been a big advocate for the WEC guys to make more money in proportion to the UFC fighters. The WEC guys come out and lay it all on the line the majority of the time. I know they don't draw in a large number of fans like UFC fighters, but the majority of that isn't their fault in my opinion. They are not promoted as much, are not exposed to as many people, nor do they have a reality show to help mold new stars. Good for the WEC. I just hope they can get near 100K PPV buys or more.
