Report: Paul Taylor Off UFC 112 Card Due To Medical Issues

From MMAJunkie:

A planned bout between Paul Taylor (10-5-1 MMA, 3-4 UFC) and John Gunderson (22-7 MMA, 0-1 UFC slated for today's UFC 112 preliminary-card reportedly has been scratched due to medical issues.

Trainer Shawn Tompkins, who planned to corner Gunderson, posted on Facebook that they learned – while on the bus to the night's host site at Concert Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – that Taylor has been scratched from the card.

Man, talk about being at the last minute if true.  If indeed this is the case, I'm sure Gunderson will still be paid his purse as he had no control over Taylor not being able to fight.  The intriguing thing is that there is no athletic commission overseeing this event with it being overseas.  So the ultimate decision was probably up to Marc Ratner, the VP of Regulatory Affairs.  Let's hope that Taylor will be 'ok'.
