ESPN'S MMA Live Will Air On ESPN 2 Starting May 6th

It was reported a couple of days ago that the internet based show MMA Live would be making the transition to television, and now we finally have a date on when that will start.  MMAJunkie with the news:

As a trial run in the month of May, the sports giant's weekly MMA show, "MMA Live," will expand from ESPN.com to an additional spot on ESPN2.

Sources close to the popular MMA news program shared with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) an aggressive month-long schedule that includes a May 6 cable-TV debut, a weekly spot on ESPN's No. 2 channel, and a couple major fight-week specials.

Beginning May 6, the weekly news show – hosted by Anik, UFC fighter Kenny Florian and Newark Star Ledger combat-sports reporter Franklin McNeil – airs in a normal 1 a.m. ET (10 p.m. ET) timeslot early on Thursday mornings.

So it appears that this will be a trial run in which the shows future will be based on the ratings it receives in the month of May.  I've never heard any numbers about the number of views that the internet based show receives every week.  However, I would have to think it does pretty well considering that ESPN will take a shot at airing it on television via ESPN2.  I thought this was a move that ESPN should have done a long time ago, but I'll take what I can get in regards to them taking baby steps with the sport of MMA.  Plus, watching this on TV has to be better than watching it via that small internet player.
