Tuesday was a big deal for matchmaking, as several fights were signed by the UFC. Let's get to them:

MMAJunkie.com reports that talented lightweight strikers will clash when Edson Barboza meets WEC standout Anthony Njokuani at UFC 128 on March 18 in Newark, N.J.

Barboza is coming off a TKO win over Mike Lullo at UFC 123 while Njokuani rebounded from a two-fight losing streak with a second-round TKO win over Edward Faaloloto at WEC 52 in November.

Tall heavyweights will meet at UFC Fight Night 24 in March when Sean McCorkle meets Christian Morecraft on March 26, Sherdog.com confirmed.

Both fighters are coming off stoppage losses to Stefan Struve. Morecraft was knocked out by Struve at UFC 117 while McCorkle was stopped in the first round at UFC 124.

An intriguing battle of lightweights will happen at UFC on Versus 3 in early March when Thiago Tavares meets WEC veteran and UFC newcomer Shane Roller, MMAJunkie.com reports.

Tavares, 2-0-1 in his last three fights, is coming off a first-round submission of Pat Audinwood at UFC 119. Roller capped of his WEC career in style at WEC 53, submitting former WEC champion Jamie Varner in the first round.

Roller finished his WEC stint with a 6-2 record with his losses coming to Ben Henderson and Anthony Pettis.

Fighters Only Magazine reports that heavyweights will collide when up-and-comer Brendan Schaub meets the sliding 2006 PRIDE Open-Weight Grand Prix Champion Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic at UFC 128.

Schaub owns a three-fight win streak. He most recently defeated former top contender Gabriel Gonzaga by decision at UFC 121, the biggest win of his young career. "Cro Cop" is coming off a third-round knockout loss to Frank Mir at UFC 119 in an extremely dull affair.
