MMAFighting.com is reporting that Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz will make the second defense of his title when he meets Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos in the main event of Strikeforce's Jan. 29 show in San Jose, Calif.

The title fight is expected to serve as the main event on the Showtime televised card. Also signed for the event is a middleweight title fight between champion Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza and Robbie Lawler, Herschel Walker vs. Scott Carson and Roger Gracie vs. Trevor Prangley.

According to sources, only four bouts are going to be televised on Showtime due to the two title fights scheduled.

Diaz (23-7-0, 1 NC overall) is coming off a unanimous decision win over K.J. Noons in his first title defense in October. He is undefeated in his last eight fights and is a perfect 4-0 in Strikeforce with wins over Noons, Marius Zaromskis, Scott Smith and Frank Shamrock.

Santos (18-13) is coming off a first-round TKO win over Zaromskis in June and is 1-1 in Strikeforce, having lost a split decision to Joey Villasenor in June 2009. His win over Zaromskis was his debut at welterweight.

His wife, Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos, currently holds Strikeforce's women's middleweight championship.
