Canada's Sportsnet.ca reports:
The light heavyweight title fight between champion Mauricio (Shogun) Rua and former champ (Suga) Rashad Evans is expected to take place at UFC 129 on Mar. 19 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, sources tell Showdown Joe Ferraro.
Also expected to be competing on the card are fellow 205-lbers Tito (The Huntington Beach Bad Boy) Ortiz and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
These two fights were first expected for the UFC's second effort in Abu Dhabi, but that show appears dead in the water at this moment. It's interesting that the UFC goes back to New Jersey with this show, although by the time this show rolls around, it will have been a year since the last show in the Garden State (UFC 111).
Rua won the light-heavyweight title when he beat Lyoto Machida at UFC 113 in May and has been out with a knee injury ever since. Evans earned his title shot with a unanimous decision victory over Quinton Jackson at UFC 114.
