Strikeforce CEO told Sherdog.com on Friday that he expects female star Gina Carano to return to the cage.
When asked directly, Coker said, "I believe so."
Carano last fought in August 2009 and was stopped in the first round by Cris Cyborg in a bout to create a Strikeforce women's middleweight champion.
"I know Gina is not going to go out the way that it went down," Coker said. "Her whole thing now is just timing and scheduling. She's got the movie coming out in April, I believe, and she's got some more stuff on her plate."
If Coker can convince Carano to return, it will be a big boon for Strikeforce, who lack fighters who can reach a broader audience. Carano has proven to be one of the few fighters in MMA who can be a crossover star. Getting Carano booked on a card, in my mind, would also increase Strikeforce's chances of getting back on CBS when that does become a reality.
