WEC 46: A Huge Ratings Improvement Over Previous Shows

New, 1 comment

From MMAJunkie:

With a star-studded card that featured a title-unification bout between Benson Henderson and Jamie Varner, WEC 46 on Versus experienced a ratings increase of 94 percent and drew a total audience of 640,000 viewers, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed with TV executives.

This just further solidifies the drawing power of Urijah Faber for the WEC promotion.  It also confirms the importance of having a title match on the line for the WEC to draw well in my opinion.  WEC 45 drew just over 300K and WEC 44(with a title on the line) drew in a reported 414,000.  Also, it's being reported that a solution to the whole DirecTV and Versus situation will be in place prior to the UFC's first event on Versus on March 21st.  So it seems as if 2010 has gotten off to a very good start for the WEC promotion.
