MMAMania with the news:

"On the heels of Shane Carwin being scratched from UFC 104 to challenge Brock Lesnar for the division title in November, MMAmania.com can confirm that former IFL and Affliction heavyweight standout Ben Rothwell has agreed to step in for "The Engineer" versus Cain Velasquez on Oct. 24."

Cain Velasquez was rumored to be taking on Shane Carwin, but now it appears that Carwin will get a crack at the UFC HW champion Brock Lesnar at UFC 106.  So now Velasquez will be taking on former IFL standout Ben Rothwell.  Rothwell is coming off a win in his last performance at Adrenaline MMA 2, stopping Chris Guillen(13-12) in the first round.  Of course, Velasquez is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Cheick Kongo at UFC 99.  Velasquez is still young and taking a fight like this can do nothing but help him grow as a fighter.  Rothwell has obtained the majority of his via TKO, but has a large number of wins via submission as well.  Give us your thoughts on this matchup?
