Lightweight bout

Isaiah Hill vs. Alex Trevino

Round 1 — Hill lands a big leg kick to start. It staggers Trevino. Hill misses a Superman punch. Hill firing some leg kicks to gauge the distance. They clinch and go down with Hill on top. Full guard. Trevino sweeps him into full guard. Trevino locks in a guillotine but Hill reverses and ends up on Trevino's back. He's working for the rear-naked choke. Trevino turns over and Hill has mount. Trevino doing a good job defending. Hill is too high. Trevino uses his legs to escape the does and tries a footlock but gives it up. Trevino now on top and he locks in a submission that I can't see for the tap. Solid fight.

Welterweight bout

James Terry vs. Zac Bucia

Round 1 — Terry with a nice right. Terry lands a huge head kick that sends Bucia crashing to the mat. He follows up with some ground and pound until referee "Big" John McCarthy is forced to stop the fight.

Lightweight bout

David Douglas vs. Justin Wilcox

Round 1 — Wilcox immediately shoots for a takedown but Douglas gets up and blasts him with a huge uppercut. He can't finish him though. Wilcox gets up and is on the ropes but Douglas is too aggressive and ends up being taken to the mat. Wilcox ends up in full guard. Douglas gets back up. Wilcox lands a nice combo. Wilcox ducks and punch and deposits Douglas to the ground. Half-guard. Side control and mount. Douglas holding on. Wilcox landing some shots. Douglas defending but he's still mounted. Douglas isn't trying to get out but Wilcox is having trouble landing. Douglas bucks and Wilcox is unmounted. Into side control. End of the round.

Round 2 —Wilcox immediately gets a takedown. Into mount once again. Now Wilcox is landing some shots, but nothing fight stopping. Still mounted but nothing much happening. They are in the center of the cage. Wilcox staying very controlled but not making much of an effort to finish the fight. Wilcox showing good control. Douglas almost slips out. Crowd starting to boo. Wilcox looking for an armbar to no avail. Into half-guard. Douglas reclaims full guard with 25 seconds left. Round's over.

Round 3 — They trade and both are landing. Wilcox gets another takedown and the crowd boos. Side control. Into mount. Wilcox getting a little better with the ground and pound. Douglas is bleeding. Wilcox on his back. Looks like the blood is coming from his nose. Douglas on his knees now with Wilcox on the side. Wilcox back on his back, kind of on the side and he locks in a choke and Douglas taps.

Light-heavyweight bout

Scott Lighty vs. Mike Cook

Round 1 Overhand right just misses for Lighty. High kick lands for Lighty but doesn't have a lot of steam on it. Lighty lands two good shots but Cook comes back with three of his own. Sweeping high kick drops Cook. He gets back up and is put down again. Lighty doesn't immediately jump on him and can't finish. Cook is back up but is clearly hurt. He's still not all there. Lighty keeps firing the high kicks to no avail. Then he goes to the body with a hard kick and hurts Cook. He brings his hands down to cover. Lighty lands a body shot and Cook crumples up in pain. He shakes his head no more and Lighty lands another shot before "Big" John McCarthy can step in to save him.

Welterweight bout

Jesse Taylor vs. Jay Hieron

Round 1 —Hieron avoids a takedown. Taylor keeps trying a head kick. Punch and shot for Taylor and Hieron defends and ends up on top. Half guard and not doing much. Into half-butterfly guard. Now full guard. Hieron putting Taylor against the cage. Hieron goes for a guillotine but no dice. Taylor appears to be bleeding from the nose. Half-guard for Hieron. Taylor tries to get back up but Hieron stuffs him. Taylor scrambles to north-south position. Hieron takes him back down.Full guard. Nothing happening and referee Herb Dean stands them up with 30 seconds left. Taylor misses a big right. End of round.

Round 2 —Hieron stuffs a shot and pulls guard into a guillotine and uses it to mount Taylor. Taylor rolls but Hieron ends up on his back looking for the rear-naked choke. He's got it.Taylor fighting it and Hieron gives it up. Hieron moves into an arm-triangle but Taylor gets out. Hieron back on top in half guard. Back to the first round now and Dean stands them up. Taylor very wild and ends up on his back from being off balance. Hieron jumps in. Hieron doing nothing. Dean stands them up again. Taylor high kick is block. Taylor takedown attempt is stuffed. Taylor ducks a punch and tries a takedown and the round ends with Hieron sprawled.

Round 3 —They stand and trade. Hieron tries a guillotine to no luck. High kick misses for Taylor and he finally gets Hieron down. Butterfly guard. Into half-guard. Hieron holding on and back into butterfly. Hieron scrambles back to his feet. Taylor pushing the action. Just misses a knee. Hieron defends two takedowns and Taylor pulls guard. Another stand up with 60 seconds left. Hieron with his hands down. Taylor just misses a right. Hieron blocks a high kick. Taylor is tired. Crowd booing and there is little action on the ground or feet. The fight is mercifully over.

Mike Kyle vs. Fabricio Werdum

Round 1 —They come out swinging. Kyle catches a leg kick and just misses a huge uppercut. A hook hurts Werdum and he goes for a takedown and gets it. Into guard working some ground and pound. Kyle goes for an armbar and almost gets it but Werdum gets into side controol. He locks up a guillotine and pulls guard. Kyle hangs on for a bit but has to tap.

Interim Lightweight Championship

Gilbert Melendez vs. Mitsuhiro Ishida

Round 1 —Ishida lands the first strike of the fight with a leg kick. Ishida with a left and a high kick that's mostly blocked. Melendez cracks Ishida. Lots of circling. Ishida goes for a takedown and is stuffed and eats a knee on the way back up. Melendez getting the better of the standing exchanges. Overhand right for Melendez. Big left for Ishida is responded by a right from Melendez. Ishida goes for a single. He's working for it for Melendez defends and Ishida finally drives him to the canvas. Ishida ends up on Meldenz's back but he scrambles out. Back to the feet and Melendez takes Ishida down with 67 seconds left. Melendez not doing anything. Ishida on a knee. Melendez knees Ishida's knee and the round ends.

Round 2 —Body shot by Melendez. Left jab sends Ishida's head snapping back. Another jab by Melendez. Ishida tries for a takedown by Melendez defends again. They clinch against the cage. Melendez working some inside knees. And they break. Ishida is bleeding from his ear. Double jab for Melendez. Right hook staggers Ishida. Melendez wades in and tees off. Ishida goes for a takedown but Melendez sprawls. He starts punching the ear. Ishida takes it then jumps up but Melendez takes him down. Melendez lands two solid knees to the body on the ground. A third. They start swinging against the cage and go back into the center of the cage. The crowd responds.

Round 3 —Ishida lands a nice two punch combo and Melendez responds with a hook. Cracking leg kick by Ishida. They scramble and Melendez drops Ishida against the cage. He pounces but Ishida defends. This fight is all Melendez. Full guard. Two good shots by Melendez. Melendez takes his back with 90 seconds to go. Goes twice for the rear-nake and appeared to have it but let it go immediately. Tries again and lets it go. He flattens Ishida out and is pounding away. Ishida doesn't defend and referee Herb Dean calls a stop to the contest.

Light-Heavyweight Championship

Renato Sobral vs. Gegard Mousasi

Round 1 —Babalu catches a hard kick. Mousasi takes him down into side control. Mousasi going to town against the cage. He's is pounding away. Babalu goes out and "Big" John McCarthy steps in to save him.
