As everyone and their brother already knows, Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir will meet to decide who the UFC's heavyweight kingpin is in two weeks. I know that Lesnar is considered the heavyweight champ and Mir is considered the interim heavyweight champ. Throw all of that aside, though. As far as I'm concerned neither will have a totally legit claim to the belt until this fight is over. Mir would have a difficult time arguing that he is the UFC's best heavyweight because he never defeated Randy Couture, the man that held the title. And Lesnar? Forget looking at this from the standpoint of being a fighter. From simply the standpoint of being a man, Lesnar owes Frank Mir some payback. Brock can wear the belt all he wants but at the end of the day you can rest assured that he hasn't forgotten that it was Mir that submitted him in less than 90 seconds the last time they fought. So who is under more pressure here? I definitely understand making Lesnar the betting favorite with the skillset that he possesses and how quickly he's progressed in this sport. But I will say that I think that the greater pressure is on him. The ledger is currently 1-0 Mir. If Lesnar evens things up, few will spend much time thinking about that earlier loss to Mir anymore. However, it's imprerative to Lesnar that he not go down 2-0 (and 3-2 in his overall MMA career). That would be a hard scenario to bounce back from and a third fight with Mir would be at least well over a year away if ever. What is your opnion? Who, if anybody, is the pressure on in this fight?
