Affliction is scheduled to hold their second event "Day Of Reckoning" on January 24th, in Anaheim, California. The fight card consists of the following:
- Fedor Emelianenko vs. Andrei Arlovski
- Matt Lindland vs. Renato "Babalu" Sobral
- Antonio "Rogerio" Nogueira vs. Vladimir Matyushenko
- Chris Horodecki vs. Dan Lauzon
- Jay Hieron vs. Jason High
- Mark Hominick vs. LC Davis
- Paul Buentello vs. Kiril Sidelnikov
- Antonio Duarte vs. Albert Rios
- Josh Barnett vs. TBA
- Bert Cooper vs. TBA
- Vitor Belfort vs. TBA
Now that's not exactly a mind blowing event that will entice fans to shell out $40 after they spent it all on Christmas gifts the month prior. Add that to the fact that the following MMA events will be taking place near the same time as this Affliction card:
- UFC 92: December 27th
- UFC 93: January 17th
- UFC 94: January 31st
Oh and did I mention that Zuffa has strategically place WEC 38 on January 25th? Which just happens to be a day after the Affliction event, and will take place in California. Guess where the Affliction event is being held? Yep you guessed it! Which also happens to be the same day that Shane Mosley vs. Antonio Margarito will hold their boxing match.
So clearly the odds are stacked against Affliction being successful. What's your guess as to what the buyrate will be for this event?
