5 Fighters New MMA Fans Must See In Action

New, 4 comments

You know there are a lot of great fighters in the world of MMA that display extraordinary abilities in the cage or ring. Many of whom are only known by the hardcore fans of the sport for one reason or another. Today we want to take a look at 5 fighters that are dynamic, explosive, and most of all some of the best fighters the new fans have never heard of:

Miguel Torres-The current WEC Bantamweight champion is an astounding 34-1(he claims more fights than that) while finishing his opponents an amazing 82% of the time. Torres is relentless with very good striking skills, but wins the majority of his fights via submission. If you have never seen Torres in action, he'll be fighting the very dangerous Manny Tapia at WEC 37 on December 3rd. The fight card will air on the Versus channel.

Eddie Alvarez-Alvarez is MMA4Real's #3 ranked LW in the world. Alvarez competes in the DREAM and EliteXC organizations. He's currently 15-1 while on a 5 fight winning streak. Most impressively is Alvarez has a 87% finishing rate of his opponents with the majority of them coming via TKO. If you have never seen Alvarez in action, he'll be taking on UFC veteran Nick Diaz for the EliteXC WW title at the EliteXC November 8th show that will air on Showtime.

Fedor Emelianenko-MMA4Real's #1 ranked HW and arguably the best fighter in the world. The former PRIDE HW champion has a record of 29-1 with a 76% finishing rate of his opponents.Emelianenko is virtually undefeated with the loss on his record coming via an illegal elbow that caused a cut, a 'loss' that he later avenged. Emelianenko was last seen destroying former UFC HW champion Tim Sylvia in just over 30 seconds at Afflictions inaugural show. If you have never seen Emelianenko in action, he is rumored to be fighting on Afflictions next show taking place in January 2009.

Wagnney Fabiano-The former IFL Featherweight champion is 10-1 with a 73% finishing rate of his opponents with the majority of them coming via submission. Fabiano is currently on a 6 fight winning streak and will make his Zuffa owned WEC debut against top contender Akitoshi Tamura, in what could be a fight of the year candidate. That fight will take place on WEC 37 on Dec. 3rd as well and will air on the Versus channel.

Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto-If fighters were measured on just skill and technical abilities, Yamamoto would be near the top of the list. Well known in Japan for his aggressive style and charisma, he has never fought in North America. His record stands at an impressive 17-1 with a finishing rate of 83% against his opponents with the majority of them coming via TKO. The dream fight many fans want to see is Yamamoto vs. WEC champion Urijah Faber to determine who the best fighter is at 145lbs. Yamamoto currently fights for the K-1 organization and it's not known when he'll be fighting again.

There you have it...five fighters that you need to see fight if you've never seen them in action. There's more fighters out there that definitely need exposure and we may do a part 2 to this using your input. So if you want to drop your list in the comments section...hit'em up!
