EliteXC: "Heat" will air on CBS this Saturday, October 4th at 9pm EST. Let's take a look at the card and how the fighters match up against one another.
Benji Radach vs. Murilo "Ninja" Rua-Radach fought 6 times last year going 5-1 after a 3 year layoff from the sport. Rua is the more well rounded of the two fighters and has fought much better competition. Radach rarely goes to a decision as he either knocks you out...or gets knock out. I see the latter happening here as "Ninja" uses that Chute Box Muay Thai and experience to finish Radach in the 2nd round via TKO.
Gina Carano vs. Kelly Kobald-Carano is the golden child of women's MMA...winning all 6 of her fights. Kobald comes into this fight much more experienced at 16-2 with both of her losses coming in her last two fights. The majority of Kobald's wins have come via submission so it's no secret that she'll want to take the fight to the ground. Carano's strength lies in her standup skills and that's what she'll use to win. Carano via TKO Round 1.
Andrei Arlovski vs. Roy Nelson-Arlovski brings good standup skills and a sambo background to the table...while Nelson has a grappling background and ok standup I guess you could say. Nelson has won his last four fights via KO/TKO, but against lesser opponents. Nelson has a puncher's chance but that's about it. Arlovski should use his speed and agility to punish the larger Nelson and keep the fight standing. Both of Nelson's losses have been via decision and I expect this to be nothing different. Arlovski via decision.
Jake Shields vs. Paul Daley-Shields wants to take Daley down....Daley wants to keep it standing...Daley is on a 6 fight win streak, but hasn't really fought any top competition...or competition that's on the same level as Jake Shields for that matter. This fight will go to the ground at some point and from there it will be all over as Shields works his magic...securing a RNC in the 1st round.
Kimbo Slice vs. Ken Shamrock-Do I even have to do a analysis of this spectacle? Slice via KO in the 1st
