October 2008=Extraordinary Amounts Of Mixed Martial Arts

New, 4 comments

I can't even begin to described how excited I am as a mixed martial arts fan. The upcoming month of October will make available to us...the fans...extraordinary amounts of solid MMA action. The following is a list of events for the month:

EliteXC Saturday Night Fights On CBS-Saturday, October 4, 2008, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS from The Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida.

Carolina Fight Promotions: "Carolina Crown"-Saturday, October 11, 2008 from the RBC Center in Raleigh, North Carolina(I’ll be in attendance I hope)

UFC 89: Bisbing vs. Leben-Saturday, October 18, 2008, at 9 p.m. ET on Spike television via tape delay from The National Indoor Arena (NIA) in Birmingham, England

UFC 90: Silva vs. Cote-Saturday, October 25, 2008, at 10 p.m. ET on pay-per-view (PPV) from The Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois.

Not to mention that the UFC will be airing UFC 86 and UFC 87 on October 4th and the 11th on Spike TV. It's counter-programming against EliteXC and Affliction on both nights, but if you haven't seen either PPV make sure you get your DVR going. Both events had some very good fights like the wars between "Rampage" Jackson vs. Forrest Griffin and Georges St. Pierre vs. Jon Fitch. Also I'd like to point out the Carolina Crown event once more as it will be taking place in my home state of North Carolina. What events/fights are you looking forward to the most? Personally I can't wait to see Sanchez/Alves as well as Vera/Jardine. Did I forget to mention that a good portion of these events are FREE?
