South Carolina Heavyweight John Richard Will Face Ferguson On Friday's Strikeforce Card

Camden, South Carolina pro heavyweight fighter John Richard (3-1 and currently ranked the # 2 heavyweight in the MMA For Real Carolinas Fighter Rankings) has opted to step in as a late substitution at this Friday's Strikeforce card in Nashville, Tennessee against multiple time national Judo champion and former Olympian Rhadi Ferguson (2-0). This is definitely a great opportunity for Richard. John has fought exclusively at heavyweight in the past but will be competing in the light heavyweight division in this fight. Rhadi Ferguson is coming off of two early first round knockouts and had previously been scheduled to face Canadian fighter Ion Cherdivara (1-0) but Cherdivara had difficulty securing a travel visa for this event. Richard was a 2005 Division 2 All-American wrestler.
