You Know

Today has been pretty crappy for me, so I’m glad I have started to consume some alcoholic beverages. I won’t get into details, except that I think I got even more mad at Office Depot than Neil did with the people that gave him the cable tuner card! Office Depot can go F off, as far as I’m concerned.

Anyway, I just started watching the stream a few minutes ago and it looks like I didn’t miss too much. Mike Brown fighting to the death against Yahya makes me wonder what happened with his career.

by Blair Russell on Jan 22, 2011 7:56 PM EST reply actions

Problem was that they WOULDN'T give me the cable card

But yeah, if you’ve got computer problems, Office Depot is one of the last places I’d go to, unless I was mailing my PC off. And yeah, you haven’t missed a whole lot.

Well

It wasn’t even anything major that I tried to buy. It was printer ink cartridges for my Dell printer! I usually go to Staples to get that, and that’s what I should have done today. At OD, they only have refurbished cartridges… trust me, they’re pieces of crap that don’t work at all! I ended up getting store credit instead of my money back, meaning I have to go back to that dump one more time to use up the giftcard that has the store credit on it! I am not happy, to say the least, and in the future I’ll stick to Staples.

by Blair Russell on Jan 22, 2011 8:08 PM EST up reply actions

lolz

Right now on Brown’s Wiki page, there’s no method of victory (or less) but it says “TKO (Fail)”, so we’re not the only ones disappointed with his performance.

The trips to the ER have started already! Hopefully that’s the only injury on the show tonight. We don’t need half a dozen guys going there like the last show in front of the troops.

McKenzie’s hair… oh boy, as Forrest would say.

But hey, he’s a member of Team Fancy Pants and he’s like CM Punk in that he doesn’t shave his chest hair, so I guess it goes with the territory.

I really enjoyed that bit of awkward (yet cool) grappling on the ground, especially the very end, where it looked like Cody was going for a sunset flip!

That ref IS a Texas mainstay… and Shorley has made some bad decisions in the past year or so if my memory serves me correctly.

That aside, I really enjoyed the fight.

John Shorle almost got Oleg Alfonso killed against Rob McCullogh. It shouldn’t be a suprise to anyone that he’s an awful ref.

Yeah, Jon Schorle is pretty bad overall.

This wasn’t his poorest performance, but it’s still bad. I mean, what was he going to do? It’s no different to me than letting a guy get pounded unconcious instead of stopping it in between punches while he’s still lucid.

Anyway, the fight wasn’t technically pretty, but for the most part it was still entertaining.

by Blair Russell on Jan 22, 2011 10:22 PM EST up reply actions

I'm even more dissapointed at this one than I was that fight

I figured that Barry would come out and murder Beltran, but he was happier pushing him away than ripping off anything that would end the fight. A few minutes into the second round he had Beltran on the ropes, dazed and stumbling, and at the end of the round his face was bloodied. WTF IS THAT?

But going from awful to not-so-awful is a far cry from going from awful to champion material. He probably loses to most top-ten heavyweights today.
