Here’s the strangest news story of the week-

"Everytime I start talking about boxing, a white man gotta pull Rocky Marciano out of their ass!"
Yep, Yep
Anyway, I’m glad that I’m able to listen to the show this time around. I really enjoyed the last one, but had to listen to most of it on download due to the sort of computer issues that only Neil would know or care about. Thankfully things are fine now.
As for tomorrow night’s show, I hope it turns out better than the last Fight for the Troops card, where multiple people got seriously injured.

Thanks
Well, I don’t mean “less violence”. Of course violence is fun to watch. But I don’t really want to see too many fighters (if any at all) end up in the hospital due to injuries suffered in a fight. Something like half a dozen guys ended up in the ER at the last show!
LOL
Neil is STILL mad about the loss of HDNet. That happened more than a year ago! Sure, I was not happy about it either, but I thought I had a long memory.
I'll ALWAYS be mad about the loss of HDNET.

Man, they’re making Pettis sit on the side lines for almost 7 months? That’s a bit much.
"Everytime I start talking about boxing, a white man gotta pull Rocky Marciano out of their ass!"
True
But, the Memorial Day weekend show is supposed to have Edgar vs. Maynard 3, so I’m sure they did it for timing reasons.

Well
You don’t sound like a robot and there’s no Skype-ing (at least not yet) so that’s good.

C’mon, don’t jinx em Blair!
"Everytime I start talking about boxing, a white man gotta pull Rocky Marciano out of their ass!"
My Bad
But, one great moment was from I believe ‘09, when Matt’s Skype went out of control and his voice sounded like it was Auto-tuned! That still makes me laugh today.

Ha
I shouldn’t mention this as it’ll at least set off Forrest, but hearing that reminds me of Bryan Alvarez and his hatred/fear/confusion of math! At least none of you have made any stupid comments about fractions or not being able to correctly add up his own score cards for MMA shows, or what have you. Then again, none of the hosts of this show are as childish or immature like Mr. Alvarez is.

Let's take up his way of doing things
And give random score cards. R1 9-4, R2 1-10, R3 5-5. For a grand total of 16-24.

fight scoring
i always thought that PRIDE had the best scoring system where the judged the fight as a whole. not a rd by rd 10 point must system. why wouldnt the american fighting companies do it that way too?
by Steve_from_cali on Jan 21, 2011 5:08 PM EST reply actions
What was so great about Pride scoring? Have you not seen all the lame decisions Dan Henderson won by just flurrying in the last minute of the fight?
"Everytime I start talking about boxing, a white man gotta pull Rocky Marciano out of their ass!"
well pride was corrupted. but if the system was used here with impartial judges it could work. the winner is the one who won the f’n fight
by Steve_from_cali on Jan 21, 2011 5:12 PM EST up reply actions
But how many draws are there with the ten point must system?
"Everytime I start talking about boxing, a white man gotta pull Rocky Marciano out of their ass!"
Not even 5% of the fights go to a draw. It’s a non-issue.
"Everytime I start talking about boxing, a white man gotta pull Rocky Marciano out of their ass!"
i also think it would give us the right dec after close fights and cut down the bad scorings
by Steve_from_cali on Jan 21, 2011 5:19 PM EST up reply actions
How about we get some good judges instead of changing the scoring system? We still have judges who think Leonard Garcia is winning fights.
"Everytime I start talking about boxing, a white man gotta pull Rocky Marciano out of their ass!"
i think if they could find better judges they would. who do u think should judge?

Am I the only one who thinks it’s hilarious that Gregg Savage thinks that the Edwards vs. McKenzie fight is a “50/50” fight?

Hilarious? No.
Giggle-worthy? Big time.
