Todd Duffee released by UFC
UFC heavyweight prospect Todd Duffee has been released by the UFC according to MMA Junkie:
A little more than one year after Duffee burst onto the UFC scene with a seven-second knockout of Tim Hague, the 24-year-old is no longer employed by the sport's largest mixed martial arts promotion.
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) learned of the UFC's decision from multiple sources with knowledge of the move, and Duffee's manager, Alex Davis, confirmed the report.
Davis declined to comment further on the matter or speculate as to the reason behind the UFC's decision.
Duffee wasn't immediately available for comment when contacted by MMAjunkie.com.
This certainly is interesting. This is such a strange occurrence that there has to be more than meets the eye here. Usually things of that sort come out in time, so we'll wait and see what happens. But for now, another promotion has the chance to sign a promising heavyweight.

Up and coming heavyweight gone?
That sucks. I’ve got a feeling it won’t take long for Bellator or Strikeforce to nab him.
You know what's really fun? Not being a raving lunatic. Give it a try some time, you might just like it!

Yeah, I expect it to be pretty fleshed out within a week or two

Things could change, but
I think Dufee isnt that promising. He would however make a great action figure, he looks like a RL one anyway.
I also suspect, that seeing how long he has been training in Vegas, Dana has a good inside line as to the guy’s real potential and gym habits, and as said, he seems to have a mouth problem. Someone should have told him you can only have a huge mouth once you are champion, or a honest to gosh top fighter, and not a guy who looks good with his shirt off.
Seems strange, especially since he was dominating Russow up till the fact – even a guy like Mostapha al Turk had 3 convincing L’s in a row before he was released. HW talent isn’t exactly abundant.
Like someone said, I’m sure there’s more to it than meets the eye; either he’s said or done something negatively effecting his standing with the brass or they’re sending him out there to develop (like they’ve done with a few others). But once again it’s HW, so I’m leaning towards the former.
"I don't care, hit him with your groin!"
I like the idea of the UFC releasing him. Dana might have told him to get a few wins outside and don’t sign with Strikeforce or Bellator or I won’t pick you up. Boy Duffe is going to be really dissapointed with the paychecks he is going to get tho.
"I have to carry out another fine moment before I die."
