Talking with MMAWeekly.com, former UFC light-heavyweight fighter Keith Jardine spoke of what his goals were in an upcoming match against Trevor Prangley at Shark Fights on September 11:

"This is just step one for me, is the way I look at it... This is step one on my way back to a UFC title. My career's not going to be complete until I fight for that UFC title. That's what this is all about for me. This is just step one, and when I get through this, and get onto step two...

"The UFC wants me back there, I want to be back there. String a few wins together and I'll be back there."

Yeah, let me know how that works out for you Keith. Good luck with that.

You know what's really fun? Not being a raving lunatic. Give it a try some time, you might just like it!

What...

A guy can’t have goals and aspirations?

I still have aspirations to run a 5-minute mile, that’s very possible but, yeah . . . Keith Jardine getting a title shot for the LHW division is as likely as Neil or myself running a 3-min mile.

Those comments are so true but a little harsh. He’ll never when the ufc light weight title, let alone make it back in the ufc. Chin is to substitutable to counter left hooks.

Nah, he'll make it back

He’s not awful, he’s just not good enough to fight for a title with any legitmacy.

I still give Jardine props for his efforts against Liddell, Rampage and Griffin but once a fighter closes the distance on him a-la Alexander, Silva and counters him like Thiago Silva, there’s not much that he can do. If demonstrated that he’s not going to be able to leg kick and back away against strong wrestlers like Bader and Hamill.

Trevor Prangley for the win.
