I doubt that one can compete at that high of a level when they’re playing around in other arenas..

Warren’s wrestling hasn’t seemed to translate so well to MMA, so far. Guy’s got a hell of a chin, though.

His only real skill IS wrestling.

He beats guys by clinch domination and takedowns. That’s basically pure wrestling skill.

He couldn’t get a takedown to save his life in the first round of the Pitbull and Soto fights. He charged forward trying to grab a clinch, and got his face boxed off for it. Pitbull even scored a clean takedown on him in the first round.

I think that’s what Anthony was reffering to. Warren isn’t a guy like Askren who can just take guys down at will and run game on them. It seems like Warren is always in a life and death struggle in his fights.

I’m aware of how Greco works. That doesn’t mean you have to run at guys with your arms stretched out trying to grab a clinch while they punch you in the face. I don’t see Couture, Henderson or Lindland doing that, and they’re all Greco guys. They set up their clinches with strikes. They don’t come at guys like a zombie.
