FightMetric released its report for the UFC 119 fight between Sean Sherk and Evan Dunham. Sherk won a split decision but the FightMetric report supports the widely-held view that Dunham was the rightful winner of the fight — and it's not even close.

This is proof enough that a computer program is smarter than Peoples and Trowbridge

I don’t think fightmetric is proof of anything except that something isn’t translating in the way the score the fights to me.
This is yet another fight that I don’t agree with them on and that’s become a regular thing, the second round was close but Sherk won it and the stats don’t match up with what I saw and it’s not the first time.

Question for you...
I’m curious to hear why you scored the second for Sherk. I don’t think I’ve seen anybody outside of Peoples and Trowbridge that did, so I’d love to hear what you saw that made you give him the round.
You realize that the part at the top is the official result, and that the score at the BOTTOM is what Fight Metric made it out to be?

I too don’t think it was that bad of a decision, heck it could’ve been unanimous….I scored it 29-28 Sherk but the 2nd round is tricky if you score for the whole round and not just the closing minute or two

I don't really see the big deal.
Dunham was obviously fine with the result. He did not complain or bitch about the decision. Yeah there’s a strong argument for a nod for Evan but that’s the name of the game. I don’t think Joe Silva, Dana White or any LW fighter, including Sean Sherk will hold this fight against him. Dunham has a bright future ahead of him.
Great fight and effort by both fighters. No one was robbed, this is not a travesty.
It was not a bad or horrible decision.

I have no idea how fightmetric had Dunham winning the grapplescore when Sherk had more takedowns and more positional advantage….Dunham had 4 sub attempts…but…they were not subbing Sherk….I’m not madd at the decision…had Dunham fought the first two rounds like the last…we wouldn’t be talking about this….so blame him.

Yeah, because whining about it in the post-fight interview would have made the UFC brass REAL happy.
