Did you see the blonde with the big jugs he was giving the lip lock to back stage after the fight? No wonder he’s been in such a good mood the last few days. He got to beat up James Toney AND have sex with a hot chick.

I love that everyone going into tonight somehow thought Randy Couture couldn’t shoot a low single.

BJ Penn had to be in the cage for 40 minutes with Frankie Edgar before he realized he had to go for a takedown. That’s just sad.

Glen Davis put more effort in bangging Arianny than BJ did in beating Frank Edgar.

Why can BJ Penn do whatever he wants to Frankie Edgar? We have 10 rounds in the books between these two and there is zero evidence pointing to Penn getting any relevant offense in against Edgar.

The sad thing about this fight is that there was a segment of the fanbase that actually thought James Toney had a chance in this fight.

That fight looked like Randy Couture’s episode of “Pro’s vs Joe’s” where he was just taking guys down and tapping them out left and right.

Hmmm

Looking at the NCAA wrestling rankings on that page and seeing some familiar names (Faber, Koshcheck, Volkman) although I have no idea who “Rasheed Evans” is from Michigan State!

Edgar vs. Penn 2

I just got back about 10 or 15 minutes ago from seeing this show on the big screen at a movie theatre. I had to eat something once I got back, so that’s why I’m joining so late.

There isn’t too much to say about my time there but I’ll comment on the fights.
As I feel the same way about BJ Penn as Forrest does, I was quite delighted to see him look so bad and get humbled here. But, I’m shocked that he did look so bad and didn’t perform as he usually does. I’ll be real interested to hear what the LOR guys say about it. At the beginning most of the crowd at the theatre were for BJ, but by the end they were for Edgar.

Zuffa would not do Randy Couture vs Jon Jones. Randy is on his retirement tour. He’ll probably fight the winner of Tito vs Hamill, then get his one last title shot, lose and retire.

They are going to have to package that with the Sonnen-Silva rematch or some other big fight, otherwise it’s going to do nothing.

Bishop's Boy vs. K-Flo

Man, I’ll agree with Forrest’s comment about this fight being hot garbage. The crowd at the auditorium was bored out of their minds by this and didn’t make too much noise outside of Kenny’s almost submission at the end. But, I was hoping that Florian would have done much better than he did.

The only amusing thing I got from this bout was Gray wearing ghetto-ass shorts and ghetto-ass iron-on ads that fell off halfway into the fight!

Diego Sanchez handled Kenny Florian pretty good in a non-title fight.

Couture vs. Toney

I guess I should comment on this fight. It’s exactly what I expected it to be, and I wildly enjoyed seeing Lights Out end up with his pants on the ground! I really don’t like boxing so I was happy to see this. Believe me, it wasn’t just the crowd in Boston that loved it; the audience at the theatre was pretty much there just to see this fight, and they loved every minute of it.

Maia vs. Miranda

The crowd at the theatre was as uninterested with it as the crowd was at the TD Garden. But, despite me hoping that Mario would do better too, I at least thought it was interesting, if not exciting at all for most of the bout. It was nice seeing Demian working his grappling skills and trying to get a submission, and Miranda at least got out of a few attempts nicely.

Mais seems to be rounding out his game but his conditioning is awful.

I just went back and rewatched Couture vs Toney, since my Dad wanted to watch it. James Toney actually verbally submitted to the first arm triangle, but Mario Yamasaki didn’t hear it and let it go on. He actually told Toney that if he wanted out, he needed to tap. The next time Randy got the arm triangle on him, Toney tapped the mat.

Diaz vs. Davis

That was an entertaining way to open the show. Man, did Marcus get his face wrecked. I don’t know why the doctor that got in there before the second round didn’t get in there again and this time stopped it.

By the way, there is one thing concerning my time there that has nothing to do with the fights. Right before the show started Fathom Events (which presents UFC on the big screen) advertised a Rolling Stones concert film that will be shown next month. After that ad aired, one guy in the crowd said, “God, I’m so frickin’ horny right now!” I have NO idea what he was referring to. Is he horny for mixed martial arts? Was he horny for Mick Jagger? I don’t know! There was a whole lot of nervous laughter to the comment.

I’ve never been horny during a MMA show… oh wait, there’s the times that we get to see Arianny or in the past, Logan Stanton. Nevermind. Speaking of her, as I’ve said before, on the big screen, seeing Arianny is a pleasant sight.
