Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

I don't know if he's ever really lost his step. I just think the fighters now in the UFC are just a little bit more aggressive than the fighters in PRIDE. Studying game on him, I noticed that guys that back away from him and give him that respect, it seems like they get unleashed on a little harder than the guys that come forward...

I think Cro Cop has a good sprawl, he has a good double underhooks. I think if I were to try to just drop and shoot on him, he would stop my shot. I think standing up with him is actually the route to go at first and then eventually when you work in the clinch, going to the ground is obviously a lot easier to do with him than Nogueira.

So..he’s saying CC is easier to take down than Nog? Or…CC is a less of a threat on the ground than Nog?

probably the latter

Although Cro Cop’s guard isn’t exactly Pat Barry’s guard. He’s got a lot of good grapplers to work with in Amsterdam, too. Mir is the bigger fighter, so he might be able to overpower Cro Cop in the clinch. But if he spends any prolonged time kickboxing with Cro Cop, he’s gonna get KTFO’d

I don't think he can overpower CC in the clinch

Mirko survived in the clinch with JDS…and well…JDS is a monster..not to mention that CC will break away from clinch situations and push Mir off as he often does in the situations.

I like this fight way more than the Nog fight.

Honestly I don’t think MIr is gonna be able to get Cro Cop down so kickboxing is gonna be all he’ got. And Mir’s stand up has looked pretty good for the past couple years. Big bulky guys have given Mirko problems in the past but for some reason I feel pretty good about this fight for Mirko. Sucks cause I really like both fighters.

Dammit. That sounds about right. I really want Cro Cop to win this one.
