Matt, Neil and Forrest will be LIVE! at 12:30 a.m. ET/9:30 p.m. PT to review Saturday's "Strikeforce: Houston" which is headlined by two world championship bouts. In the main event, "King Mo" Lawal defends his light-heavyweight championship for the first time against Rafael Feijao. In the co-main event, the vacant Strikeforce middleweight championship is up for grabs when TIm Kennedy meets Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza.
We'll break down all the fights that make air with the usual Lights Out Radio insight and hijinks. Forrest is in Houston for the show and is expected to bring the lowdown from the inside Toyota Center.

Did we all know this was going to happen when Forrest called in yesterday and said Feijao would be able to do “nothing” to Mo? Harkens back to his Fedor-Werdum prediction.

I actually said several times in the lead up to the fight that he offered some real threats to Fedor that people were totally overlooking. For as great as Fedor is, he ends up in some horrible positions on the ground generally. He got his back taken by Mark Coleman, had Mark Hunt on top of him cranking on a keylock, and Brett Rodgers ended up on top of him in a reverse mount. Thinking he wouldn’t get in hot water against Werdum on the ground just because he beat up Minotaruo a million years ago was just silly.

As I know that Neil loves it when it’s brought up, right now in the top Twitter Trends, there’s “Feijao” and “Strikeforce”.
“Purple Rain” is also trending, but that was on VH1 earlier tonight.
Can someone ask Forrest whether anything was up with Mo mentally before the fight. He just looked off.

Feijao showed amazing takedown defense. Mo had him in the air several times and couldn’t do anything with Feijao. When Mo did get him down, Feijao just stood right back up.

Does anyone think Mo gassed and got sloppy? I didn’t really notice it but I’ll look out for it when I go back and watch the fight again. It would make sense if he gassed and, unlike the Mousasi fight, he couldn’t get the fight to the ground.
Anybody?
His punches looked sloppy in the second. Maybe he did gass a bit, but I think that is the way he strikes. Also I think it was Feijao’s BJJ that got him up when Mo took him down.

No, he stood around being passive for long periods of time, like the Mike Whitehead fight. When he did start to go for offensive, Feijao shut him down. Then when Feijao turned it on in the third round, the wheels fell off.

Hard to say
It’s not like he started out fast and slowed down. Like, in the Mousasi fight he slowed down to a steady pace, but tonight it wasn’t exactly a blistering pace at any point.

That’s why I don’t get emotionaly attached to fighters. They lose, it’s part of the game. You think Forrest sounded bad? You should have heard me after Randy lost to Brock Lesnar.

Man I hope Forrest gets some sleep tonight before his long drive but I have a feeling he won’t – I bet King Mo is going to be stealing the covers all night. He strikes me as a covers-hog.

The last thing I'll say on this:
I was laying on the bathroom floor of my hotel last night with my eyes rolling back in my head in pain, throwing up pure bile and being as close to calling 911 as humanly possible. The only reason I didn’t call 911 and go to the emergency room was because I knew if I did, I probably wouldn’t be able to go support Mo tonight, which is the only thing that mattered to me. I sat in the audience for almost 5 hours totally drawn from throwing up and sore all over my body, with taped up glasses because they got broken when I passed out from the pain on the floor of our bathroom. I drove almost 12 hours to Houston knowing in my heart of hearts that he was going to win, but even if I knew he was going to lose, I still would’ve made that drive. He helped keep me from getting evicted from my old apartment and he helped me stay in school when I couldn’t afford to. He’s one of the best people I’ve ever known, so yeah, to see him not succeed crushed me. It sucked. I know he’s going to come back from this, I know he’s going to get better, and I know we’ll all live to fight another day, but it still sucks just the same.
If you find some kind of real enjoyment out of that (not me being wrong, but my actual sadness or dissapointment) and it satisfies your own ego in some way, seriously, go fuck yourself.

Judging by the comments above, I don’t think anyone took any enjoyment from your sadness. I actually think it was the exact opposite, which everyone feeling a little depressed after hearing the way your voice sounded alone.
I also have a confession to make: after spending about two weeks going back and forth with you after the King Mo/Mousasi fight, King Mo became one of my favorite fighters. Since then I’ve listened to every interview he gave and broken down every one of his fights (several times). The sheer fact that he’s such a student of the game should make him a favorite of any true fan of MMA. I really think he has HUGE potential and, just as you said, will come back even better and wreck some shit.
However, you have to expect to be on the receiving end of some vitriol after all of the shit you talked after he beat Mousasi. You should expect just as many “he mad”‘s as you dished out. Mo should also expect a good bit of heat from the keyboard warriors after all the shit he’s talked (.e.g, that he could easily beat Fedor, Jon Jones, and a ton of other top fighters).

hahahahaha, i just called in and for the record, im not on coke! lol, i was just tryin to get my overall opinion of the show out there. bottom line is this, strikeforce needs young stars just like ufc does just on a much larger scale, two of their “stars” were made to look weak, albeit not purposely, but thats what happened. jacare, who won, also looked weak, showing no killer instinct. where to they go from here?

it was a bad call no doubt about it, but now we have to look forward to diaz noons 2 and that is one of the only intriguing fights that they have right now
with all due respect to everyone’s opinion, as a fan, i am praying that strikeforce succeeds because i saw a wrestling industry crash 9 yrs ago because the competition couldnt step it up. eventhough strikeforce isnt on par with ufc, as a huge mma fan, it will be better for the sport and for business for them to step up their promotional game, so to speak.
