Carolinas Fight Scene Update: CFP Results From Camp Lejeune

CFP brought MMA action to Camp Lejeune on Saturday

Carolina Fight Promotions put on an entertaining show on Saturday night in front of the Marines at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina. In the main event, CFP featherweight champion Cesar Llamas (4-0) retained his championship by submitting Preston "The Expert" Marks (4-2 and the # 1 ranked bantamweight in the Carolinas by MMA For Real) via submission (guillotine choke) in the 4th round. Also, CFP welterweight champion Jake Whitfield (5-1) successfully defended his title by submitting Paul Wright via submission (arm triangle choke) in the 3rd round. In other action:

Pro middleweight Derek Brunson (3-0) needed just 41 seconds to knockout Ed Jackson (0-1) in the 1st round.

Pro heavyweight Josh Lening (2-3 and the # 3 ranked heavyweight in the Carolinas by MMA For Real) defeated Drew Stewart by decision.

Pro welterweight James Wright (1-0) defeated Joseph Sullivan (4-14) by submission (choke from north-south position) in the 1st round.

6'6" amateur middleweight Jeff Hunt (3-0) defeated William Craig (0-1) by knockout in the 1st round.

Amateur middleweight Andre Adams (3-0) defeated Rich Kantorowski (0-1) by knockout in the 1st round.

Amateur welterweight Shawn Dillon (2-0) defeated James Boyette (0-1) by submission (RNC) in the 1st round.
