You shut your whore mouth!
A Clockwork Orange is one of the finest films of all time, and was vastly ahead of it’s time.

It explored something about the brainwashing and censorship of somehitng… blah blah blah, Barack Obama.
"I don't care, hit him with your groin!"
It was about culture, fundamental human nature, the cult of violence, I can go on
It was so deep. If you smoke, then watch it stoned.

No bueno, that film went down faster in my esteem than MJ touching his fans around the world
Citizen Kane was ahead of its time.

It was alright I've seen it a couple of times not something I want to rush out and buy though.
Full Metal Jacket was probably Kubricks best , at least the one I liked best.

I just think he was never in good shape for fights at 205, he always gassed and was open to whatever shots people wanted to throw at him. It’ll be interesting to see if his thick neck can’t stand up to decent power at HW

Ass kicked repeatedly by 205ers or ANYONE that can grapple.
A “big win” over Brett Rogers who is incredibly raw and unskilled.
Beating up braindead Fujita, Thompson and Goodridge.
Fat, not training Mark Hunt.
Tae-Hyun Lee, who seriously cannot fight at all
Paul Buentello. LOL.
My favorite: literally turning and running from Sergei before he got knocked out.
Overeem gets absolutely steamrolled by all the wrestlers or grapplers in the division. I’d pick dos Santos against as well, since being a hulking mass of muscle has greatly reduced his agility and speed.
by Forrest Lynn on Jul 15, 2010 6:48 PM EDT up reply actions
He beat the shit out of Sergei one time
And Werdum, Noguiera, and Arona aren’t just “anyone” that can grapple, they’re three of the best grapplers in the history of MMA.
His K-1 resume is what you have to judge Overeem on for the past 2 years. Wins over Hari, Aerts, and Texeira are as good as anything anybody in K-1 has done at the weight classes above Georgio Petrosyan since Overeem went to kickboxing.

Overeem has been knocked out by every decent punch that’s ever hit him square in the face. He’s a fragile, fragile flower and no amount of horsemeat and weight lifting is going to change that.

Dude has been KO’ed or TKO’ed by-
Bobby Hoffman
Chuck Liddell
Shogun (twice)
Rogerio Nogueira
Sergei Kharitonov
And tapped to strikes against Arona.
The doesn’t react well to getting punched in the face. It’s a glaring, glaring weakness in his game, and one that he hasn’t suddenly overcome. He just hasn’t fought anybody who’s been able to take advantage of it recently. The last person he fought who was a real good striker was Badr Hari in their rematch in K-1, and Hari punched him in the face and Overeem’s wheels fell right off. Nothing’s changed.

Hari is the greatest KO artist in K-1. We all know about Shogun and Chuck. Bobby Hoffman was like his first MMA fight. The only ones I think you have for your case are Rogerio and Sergei.
Look, he doesn’t have a shameful KO on his record. He doesn’t have the chin of Mike Russow by any means, but few people do.

Against a Hari who fought 3 times in a night like 3 weeks earlier?
Washed up Aerts?
Glassjaw (and not very good) Texeira?
Woo hoo.
His win over Sergei comes in the fight where Sergei dislocates his shoulder.
Really, we’re using kickboxing success to handicap an MMA fight now? wow.
by Forrest Lynn on Jul 15, 2010 6:54 PM EDT up reply actions
And exactly what fight were we talking about?
We’re talking about the fighter, and last I figuered, K-1 counts as fighting.
And as for Hari, until Overeem KO’d him he basically hadn’t been pushed since the loss to Bonjasky. Don’t try to downplay that victory. It’s obvious you don’t know anything about “Glassjaw Texeira”, considering his only loss besides Overeem is a decision to Errol Zimmerman. Aerts isn’t “Mr. K-1” anymore, but he isn’t garbage.

Brock Lesnar
Shane Carwin
Frank Mir (although the 2 most heartless fighters in MMA going at it could be amazing)
Antonio Silva
Fedor Emelianenko

Werdum—Push
Cain Velasquez—OK

"I can't take you seriously."
Offered with no explanation. Basically means, I DUNNO WHAT TO SAY BECAUSE I CAN’T CONSTRUCT A GOOD ARGUMENT.
Waits for someone to say Fedor is slow because Arlovski, who is a tremendous athlete, did alright against him for 3 minutes before he was KOed
by Forrest Lynn on Jul 15, 2010 7:29 PM EDT up reply actions
Fool, I have to fucking go
I just argued with you for half an hour. Fedor is slower because he’s OLDER. He’s slower because Brett Rogers, who you’ve already dismissed, busted his nose. He’s slower because Arlovski has been outboxed by fuckin Tim Sylvia and Fedor didn’t look unstoppable against Arlovski. I’m not saying that Fedor is slow. I’m saying he’s slower, which is undeniable.
For all intents and purposes, it was common wisdom Nog is better at “MMA jiu-jitsu” than Werdum. Hell, Nog beat him head to head. But you mean to tell me we can’t draw conclusions from the fact that Fedor spent a fucking week inside Nog’s guard without getting subbed, and then Werdum locks him up like they’re just rolling in a gi? It’s a result of the gap between them being narrowed, Werdum becoming better and Fedor aging.
It’s laughable to think that fighters don’t change. Sure, you can’t grow a chin, but you can become a better defensive striker and have better conditioning, just like you can become slower.

Nog is NOT better at MMA jiu-jitsu than Werdum. Not even close. And Nog won his fight against Werdum by outboxing him. Almost none of that fight was contested on the mat- when it was on the mat, Werdum had Nog in trouble.
Fedor has always been a reckless grappler. This is the same guy who had his back taken by Mark Coleman, ended up in a keylock with Mark Hunt and was reverse mounted by Brett Rodgers. He gets in bad spots. The fact that he fell headlong into the triangle of a world champion BJJ fighter shouldn’t shock anyone.

The Overeem apologists always seem to be guys who just weren’t around in 2006-2007 when the dude lost 5 times and was considered little more than a washed up can. People literaly thought it was a joke when he was given the Shogun rematch at Pride 33. He couldn’t win a relevant fight to save his life at that point.

Fedor fought a few fantastic fighters, some good fighters and some cans over a ten year span.He looked anywhere from stellar to good against all of them, apart from the Werdum fight obviously.
The basis of the Overeem hype is the last three years he’s spent at heavyweight, where his best wins are against Paul Buentello and Brett Rodgers. His other wins in that time are against such fantastic opposition as Fujita, Gary Goodridge, James Thompson, and Mark Hunt. Not to mention such world beaters as Tony Sylvester and Tae Hyun Lee.
If a heavyweight showed up in the UFC and his best wins were Paul Buentello and Brett Rodgers, no one would be considering them any sort of world beater. Espically if they had six losses by TKO, most of them from light heavyweights.

Arlovski and Sylvia were top fighters at the time.
Arlovski was top 2. Sylvia was ranked 6th. Overeem hasn’t fought a single top 10 HW in his entire MMA career.
by Forrest Lynn on Jul 15, 2010 10:31 PM EDT up reply actions
Arlovski was the consensus #2 heavyweight in the world when Fedor fought him, as strange as that may sound now. Sylvia was still a Top Ten guy, and Rodgers had just KO’ed Arlovski and was sniffing around #8 around most rankings. You’re using more than a little bit of rivisionist history if you’re saying that Arlovski wasn’t a great win, and that Sylvia and Rodgers at the very least were solid Top Ten opposition at the time.
Overeem on the other hand beat Paul Buentello, who was hardly a Top 20 heavyweight at the time and who’s crowning achivement at that time was KO’ing Tank Abbott and Justin Eilers. Arguably Overeem’s best win is Brett Rodgers, who is Fedor’s sloppy seconds and is still incredibly raw. It’s a legit lower end Top Ten win, but still…………..that’s the best win Overeem has on his ledger at heavyweight. If we go on his entire record, it’s his two wins against an uninspired, out of shape Vitor Belfort and an injured Sergei Kharitonov, who later came back to KO Overeem in hilarious fashion in the rematch.
