No way Rashad takes that fight.That’d just be stupid.He’s got a guaranteed title fight waiting for him.Why take a fight he’d probably loose against Machida in the mean time?To do Machida a favor?Rashad don’t need a fight.Shogun will be rustier and in worse shape that he is when they finally fight.Rashad won’t be dealing with coming back from knee surgery.
Rashad’s doing the smart thing by sitting this one out.

He’s still just delaying the inevitable. Even if by some miracle he defeats a rusty/recovering Shogun, who does he think will be his next opponent? That’s right, the Dragon will be waiting to tool him yet again.

The last time Shogun came back from a long layoff and knee surgery,he went life and death with Mark Coleman.Thinking that Rashad Evans would have a shot at beating Shogun in a simmilar situation,isn’t out of the question at all.Knee surgery is serious,serious stuff,and you just don’t bounce back from that stuff at 100%.

Rashad’s earned his shot, now it’s time to Machida to earn his a guy coming off 2 losses is in no position to be asking for another title shot.
