To my knowledge, Werdum fought the last fight on his contract and I have had a few sources tell me that the UFC will be courting him soon, in hopes to draw him back to the octagon while teaming up with the Brazilian to bait Fedor to the big show, in hopes of somehow having the rematch on a UFC pay per view. While I still believe Fedor will likely never fight in the octagon, "never say never" is a common adage in MMA. But alas, I'll believe it when I see it.

damn on two fronts

#1. The UFC will drive that price up outrageously…forcing SF to overpay.
#2. Was SF was sticking Werdum up the ass..having him figh Fedor on the last fight of his contract…if he lost….would they have tried to re-sign him for less money?

Like I said originally, if the rematch happens Scott Coker WILL open up the wallet big time to make it happen. Such is business.

but the UFC could potentially open up the bigger wallet… seems to depend how they felt about throwing Fedor/Werdum II on a PPV

Damn, Dana with the sneaky butthole tactics – you have to applaud the man basically.

That’s not particularly sneaky, but yeah Zuffa can basically do that too :)

Fabricio Werdum signed a three-fight extension with Strikeforce prior to the Fedor fight, so he’s not going anywhere for a while.

Fedor returned home

I thought I’d mention this, but wasn’t sure where. Fedor returned home last night and his fans as usual greeted him at the airport. Later on they reported on the Russian MMA forum that he looked very disappointed and reserved, more so than usual. However he was very cordial with everyone, thanked everyone and so on.
