Wanted to make this show, but charity commitment bit me
I was interested in seeing Clodfelter vs P-licious, cant say it didnt go exactly how I expected though. I was always surprised anyone would rank him above P though.
Great night of fights! Doug and the Carolina Fight Promotions crew always put on great events.
Pete Martin had a great fight, escaping a nasty knee bar by utilizing some nasty strikes and lots of grit and finished with a rear naked choke.
Jason Palacios ended his fight quickly, lighting up Clodfelters legs with some nice kicks before taking it to the mat and finishing it off with some vicious strikes.
Any Videos?

did anyone see the amateur fights?
what did you think? anyone to look out for?
I THINK IS WRONG THE WAY CFP RUNS THERE EVENTS!!!!
On most of there events, I think they are’nt using the NC commisions referees…Instead i think they are using the I.K.A. kickboxing refs…..Which is freaking stupid!!!! In the Kirkpatric/Fierle fight, kirkpatric had Fierle in a RNC but Fierle had control of one arm….The ref thought he tapped, realized he was wrong, reset them in the same position, BUT ALOWED KIRKPATRIC TO LOCK UP THE CHOKE…..AND THEN SAID “BEGIN”….FREAKIN DUMBASS!!!
i dont disagree that fierle had not tapped the first time the fight was stopped, but he did not have 2 on 1 or any control of my arm. he wasnt doing anything to defend the position either. i had a body triangle and the choke sunk. it wasnt a good call, but he wasnt going anywhere. also note that we restarted with just one hook in, with no body triangle.

Bullshit! You did have one arm around my neck loosely, but i had your other arm controlled. When we got restarted you put two hooks in instead of that body triangle which I was turning out of, and thanks to the ref you got a chance to lock up the choke exactly how u wanted before he said go. I might not have been getting out of the second choke , but i still didn’t tap. Your win was handed to you by a bad ref and a bad call. You should man up and come fight me in Winston Salem at SCRAPLIVE on AUG 28th. Any Weight class you want.
Uhhh

Well, you got completely dominated. Kicked, taken down, YOU HELD A GUILLOTINE/FRONT HEADLOCK WHILE SIDE MOUNTED (week 1 mistake), got mounted, turned your back, and he did have his arm around your neck. All in 2 minutes. You were getting whooped, its not as if a 3rd guy ran in and hit you with a chair…….
That said, sadly, The refs CFP uses tend to be the better ones. The refs in NC suck pretty bad. THere is a fellow from Pitsboro who is pretty good, but I have seen Coley and Frye do some flat out stupid stuff (standing fights up when one fighter has mount…..) and the problem is, the are some of the BETTER refs in the state.
The fact a person cant have a corner/fighter license and a judge/ref license hurts MMA in NC alot, the folks who know what they are doing, dont do the job, since they tend to be competing or training/cornering others.
IMO, if a ref blows a call that badly, He should get reviewed. But back to reality, its an amatuer fight, if you continue to compete, and turn pro its a complete non factor, use it as a learning experience and brush that ground game up, and IMO be a man about it.
My ground game is solid. I held his head to stall since i saw that he didnt know the finish from there. The von flu choke was wide open. I never gave my back, more like my side. The choke was not tight at all until the restart. Yea i made some mistakes, but i learn from every fight, It wont happen again The possible rematch will be different. When you say i was dominated, that only adds fuel to the fire. If he comes to my home town for a rematch at scraplive THEN WE WILL SEE KIRKPATRICK GET DOMINATED AND FINISHED , AND IT WILL BE UNDISPUTED. I’m done talking about it.
I have doubts
But since you say this, he had no intent of attempting a von flu choke, and it was pretty clear when he simply mounted you. It also sure looked to me like you turned your back.
I dont have a dog in the fight, but you got dominated. Like I said use it to improve and dont say you were screwed (I do think the ref borked it, but from what I was watching to that point, I cant say with any certainty he changed the outcome of the fight at all).
Also......
There are at least 3 other bad things that can happen other than the von flu choke from holding a guy’s head…..does everyone learn all their grappling from the internet/UFC replays these days?
which arm were you controlling?
Wait, i can kindof see it… you gain control of my arm by trapping it under your chin… Trickyyy, trickyyy… was that one at the Von Flue seminar too, or did you rip it off of youtube?? get a life bro.

Look a lil closer . Whats that my left hand is holding? Congratulations on your controversial win, but I’m completley focused on my my training and my next fight, which will hopefully be against you. U can mock my ground game all u want. It will only make it worse on you because if I lock something up I promise i will break it. I won’t make the same mistake twice. Believe that.
I dont think anyone is mocking you, however
Since you seemed to feel the Von Flue choke was the only counter/problem with grabbing the head like that, you sort of invited some ribbing. I dont think making this an ugly thing is good for MMA, or you, or the site. I was maybe overstepping when I suggesting being a man about it earlier, now though…..you are talking about injuring a guy.
The bad part is, you are telling a guy, who looked to me to be the better grappler by a good margin this. Do you think now, if you fight him again, he wont give you the same dinner you seem so intent on serving him? Not smart, and not classy IMO to talk like that.
Cool off about it, train, fight and I am sure you will see him again at some point as a pro. If I was his trainer/manager, I would not give a rematch to a guy he beat in the first round, but that is just me.
Insight
first off there our kids that get on here and read these forums, watch the language (whether you know it or not you are a role model) second off we all know sports will always have a degree of human error, when you face that in any sport it should be looked at for what it is, a mistake. Complaining about the fact is Mute. the fact is you put yourself in a bad predicament and the ref made a judgement call. I understand that your frustrated by this and all i can tell you is hes human. Now as far as trying to call out the guy that in my opinion dominated The ENTIRE fight, the fact remains within two minutes he had you down, ground and pounded, and took your back. Btw im saying this strictly from a completely objective standpoint, having never trained with either one of yall. Lesson to be Learned: Never Give The Ref A Reason to Look for a Stoppage.

Call Jeremy Owens (910) 538-9894, he is one of the fight card makers for CFP. In all honesty he might say what I originally said, he took you down, mounted and then took your back in less than 2 minutes. Either way its worth a shot. But if I was Kirpatrick I would have a problem taking the fight knowing he has nothing to gain from it. Just remember everyone takes L’s, its better to take them now and learn from them, then years down the road in a title fight.

i think rckirkpatrick needs to get the snatch from between his legs and come to winston and smashed!!!!

By the guy he kicked, took down, and dominated the first time around?
I dont have a dog in the fight, but the smart guess would be on a short turn around, the same thing will simply happen all over again.
