Report: Stevenson out, Griffin in against Gomi
Dave Meltzer is reporting that Joe Stevenson has to pull out of his scheduled fight with Takanori Gomi at UFC on VERSUS 2 on Aug. 1 due to a knee injury. His replacement? Tyson Griffin, who is fresh off a split decision loss to Evan Dunham at UFC 115 earlier this month.
Griffin's loss to Dunham was his first since dropping a decision to Sean Sherk at UFC 90. He had won two bouts in that span. Gomi lost his UFC debut to Kenny Florian back at UFC Fight Night in March. He has lost three of his last five fights.
The fight will remain on the show's main card.

It’s a shame really because apart from his atrocious submission defense he has some serious skills. I don’t know who he is working with these days on his jits but he really needs to step it up.

yea
if you have something against Gomi winning lol

From all the people I've heard talk about it
It’s pretty much his students over in Japan. The man isn’t exactly going after that whole “iron sharpens iron” thing.
