From MMAFighting.com:
After five years, 13 fights and four straight losses, Keith Jardine's tenure with the UFC is over.
UFC President Dana White confirmed to MMA Fighting that the company has cut ties with the Ultimate Fighter season two alumni after his recent majority decision loss to Matt Hamill at last Saturday's TUF 11 finale.

Don't bet on Jardine going to Strikeforce
They sign guys to long-term contracts and he would most likely lose violently to King Mo. I’d bet he goes and fights twice for MFC, gets two good wins, and is brought back on an undercard around the middle of next year. His ultimate goal is to be in the UFC.
most likely scenario

He'll be at Shine or MFC or Jackson's new promotion
Get a win or two and be back on the undercard.

After that fight?
If it wasn’t after the Bader fight, I’d have figure it wouldn’t be after this close affair.
Also, Brandon Vera SHOULD NOT be on the roster still, much less main cards.

I think Vera should have one more before he's in danger, back to back loses to Randy and Bones don't look as bad as what has happend to Jardine.

it's not the losses
it’s the way he’s looked for 3 years, win or lose, that make him expendable

What ever, Vera thought he could hang with Randy's Greco game and he was sorley mistaken.
Randy’s never been a world beater but if your not on top of your game he will eat you alive. Vera had an advantage anywhere else except with his back on the cage. Its’ his fault that’s where the fight stayed.

Randy couldn't take him down
so…I’d say he hung with his Greco game….Vera should(and did IMO) win that fight…but he deserved to lose it like that for not finishing Couture like he should have.

How do win a fight when your are defending your position the entire time?
I guess I’m the only one but I didn’t even wait to hear the decision I thought that fight was so one sided I went out to smoke a cig because I knew Couture had won.

Surprised we haven’t heard anything on Yvel, I hope they keep him around for one more fight

Yvel should be cut.
He shouldn’t have been in the UFC to begin with
by Forrest Lynn on Jun 24, 2010 4:40 PM EDT up reply actions
He’s exciting in a division that lacks excitement outside the top 5 or so guys. If they’re keeping around the James McSweeney’s of the world, I’ll prefer Yvel any day of the week.

Yvel is exciting?
Are you living in 2000?

It was horrible.
Do you think he’s a UFC caliber fighter?
by Forrest Lynn on Jun 24, 2010 4:49 PM EDT up reply actions
Is the bottom half of their heavyweight roster "UFC caliber"?
No, it’s the thinnest division. At least Yvel hits hard. He’s like the beta-version of Cheick Kongo.

There's not a single fighter at HW the UFC has that I would favor Yvel against.
He sucks. He lost his first fight by brutal KO in a round and his second fight was a total embarrassment, which he also lost. He needs to go.
by Forrest Lynn on Jun 24, 2010 4:56 PM EDT up reply actions
total embarrassment? okay.
Also, you must not know the UFC heavyweight roster. Did you see the Tim Hague/ Joey Beltran fight, for chrissakes?

*then losing 30-27 to Ben Rothwell*
Yvel needs to go. You can jerk off watching him for M-1 in Holland if you want. The UFC is not where he belongs.
by Forrest Lynn on Jun 24, 2010 5:21 PM EDT up reply actions
Okay, whatever
then maybe you need to be on the pipeline telling Dana White to cut everyone from the heavyweight roster but 10 guys.

The Picture
That’s one interesting picture of The Dean of Mean. At first I thought those boxes were computers, and he was at a server farm or something! I’m not sure why he’s at a warehouse or whatever, but I’m sure he’ll have more luck on the small-time scene.
As for the epic argument over Gilbert Yvel, of all people, I don’t think that he belongs in the UFC. Nothing against him, but his two recent fights there haven’t made him look good, to say the very least. Sure, he and Rothwell were both pretty awful, but there has to be prospects that are more worthwhile to sign, and I don’t think he’s even worth much as a “name” for any up and coming heavyweights to get a win over.
