UFC 118 Prelims Announced: Lauzon vs. Etim, Rivera vs. Sakara
Spike TV announced the two UFC Prelim fights that will air prior to the UFC 118 PPV broadcast that will take place in Boston, Massachusetts on August, 28th. The card will be headlined by a UFC lightweight championship re-match between BJ Penn and Frankie Edgar. The co-main event will consist of a bout between Randy Couture and James Toney.
The two prelim fights that will air on Spike TV are a lightweight contest between Joe Lauzon and Terry Etim, plus a middleweight bout between Jorge Rivera and Alessio Sakara.
Lauzon is coming off a decision loss against Sam Stout back at UFC 108, which was Lauzon's first bout since recovering from a knee injury. Etim succumbed to Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC 112 via submission.
Rivera is coming off an impressive performance against Nate Quarry back at UFC 21, winning via TKO. Sakara is also coming off a TKO victory, defeating James Irvin on the UFC on Versus 1 card.
These are two fights that should be crowd pleasers, especially the Rivera/Sakara match up.

Etim/Lauzan should be good, but if Joe can’t get Terry down and keep him there he’s gonna loose

Lauzon
should be able to get Etim down….Etim likes to kick too much…plus Lauzon’s a better wrestler than Dos Anjos.

Really? Lauzon really doesn't seem to have the size that Dos Anjos has, so I figured Terry could avoid spending lengthy amounts of time on his back and his striking is better than Lauson's

Well
Etim’s not a big guy…just tall…that length can work against you at times in regards to takedown defense…I think Joe can get him down….
