Be sure to join us tonight at 9pm ET for the WEC 49 event that will air on the Versus channel. It should be a good night of fights as Jamie Varner will be taking on Kamal Shalorus in the main event. Also on the card will be Josh Grispi as he returns from over a year layoff to take on LC Davis. Please remember the NO SPOILERS rule as some of the preliminary action may make the broadcast. I don't know about anyone else
But this, not unlike many other WEC shows, has me fairly disinterested. I don’t even remember the last one that I was actually pumped about, except for the PPV and maybe Faber vs Pulver 1/2. I mean, these lighter weight dudes are pretty good, and I’m not someone who is tied up in how “great” “heavywieght” fights are, but it always seems like such a second-rate show compared to UFC proper.
Am I the only one who feels that way?

I don’t get quite as pumped either…but I always watch…and afterwards….I’m glad I did like 99% of the time.

Yeah, I guess that's true
At least it’s not like Strikeforce where I actually get excited about the card, then get really let down after watching it because I forgot it’s an awful product.

Well, it’s a temporary thing. I’m sure that they’ll find some goof to be a permanent ring announcer sometime soon.

Well, his skin pigmentation is about the same as Sheamus (I know, a pro wrestling reference; sorry, but it works), but he’s managed to survive so far and it’s been more entertaining than I had expected.

Awesome. Yep, I’ve had sake once, and that’s some strong stuff.
It’s better than what I drank last night. I saw The A-Team on the big screen (it’s goofy but entertaining fun) then I went to a nearby club. At the movie theatre I had a Sam Adams, just because, then at the club I had Mich Ultras, not because I like the taste, but rather because it’s the cheapest there. At least today I got to watch last night’s UFC show and with liberal use of the fast-forward button I went through it in less than 2 hours.

How about that Hominick fight? I’m always torn about his fights because I think he has some of the best looking striking in MMA (without any of the power stuff) but I think he’s the biggest douche bag in MMA. In mean, how many other fighters do push-ups after every fight?
