Sean Sherk To Return Soon, Hopes To Fight Lightweight Contenders
It'll be interesting to see how Sean Sherk fits back into the mix of things. He has been out of action with injuries sinec losing a decision to the now lightweight champion Frankie Edgar at UFC 98. Prior to that fight he won a decision against the always tough Tyson Griffin who just lost to Evan Dunham at UFC 115 this past weekend. At 36 years of age, can Sherk become a contender again or do you think he will be relegated to gatekeeper status?

He's pretty much done
But there are some fights for him. I mean, it’s hard to believe but Sherk has only ever lost to elite fighters (Hughes, GSP, Penn, Edgar). He’s actually had one hell of a career.
The Gomi/Stevenson loser would be good to see where he stands in the division.

People think about Sherk, and how he was too teensy for 170, and too awful for 155, but folks also fail to remember that he’s got a win percentage that’s slightly better than Anderson Silva. It would be foolish to say that he’s got the hands to put anyone down (despite what he may think), but his wrasslin’ is good enough to hold down lots of dudes at 155. If he can stay injury free he can be a gatekeeper to title contention, and if he goes back to his strengths he might even be able to win the title from a non-BJ champ.

I agree with Neil
If dude just stuck to his strenghts instead of trying to box with those short ass arms…he could beat a lot of guys…it might be somewhat boring..but he’d win….

What fights do you watch?
Sherk has beaten ALOT of guys. and only lost to the very best……so I think your statement is a tad off.
