Don't you just love it when you can watch MMA like every night it seems? If you don't think so, then you are wack. Anyways, please make plans to join us tonight at 11pm ET for the Strikeforce Challengers 8 show featuring a main event between Matt "The Law" Lindland and Kevin Casey. Also on the card is rising welterweight prospect Tyron Woodley as he'll be taking on Nate Coy. Here's the televised line up:

lol. Then again, I’m more interested in that than Challengers, mainly for comedy purposes.
Speaking of that, from watching a few minutes of it, Bas is Bas, but the other two announcers are pretty laughable, and it makes you think that you shouldn’t be so hard on Mauro and even Frank Shamrock. One of them said something to the effect that not all strikes have to land for them to be effective! What? Neil, Forrest, Matt, and Bas would be SO much better. The opener is a 4-0 guy vs. a 17-7 dude, and it may not even be opening of a KOTC card quality. And, the chick doing backstage interviews doesn’t look bad, but she’s not even Jenn Brown good!
Plus, the 10 second warning comes from the ring announcer over the PA, and the horn is a terrible-sounding airhorn, it sounds like. Neil, you and Matt should’ve gotten together to watch this PPV to get a YAMMA-esque experience from it, as you know that the both of you would be laughing hysterically all night long.

The problem with Shamrock isn’t that he’s bad, as much as him just being biased. Like, him just crapping all over Shields, even though he’s winning the fight, that sort of thing. Besides, these guys probably aren’t being paid, just getting a free meal or something.

Yeah, that’s true. But hey, if you and Matt got a few suckers… er, I mean pals over to watch it with you, it’d cost only a few bucks per piece. Still, if you want to watch it but not pay for it (not that I’d ever do such a thing…), that may be better anyhow. The pay per view apparently is in standard definition even though it’s supposed to be HD.
Oh, and this fight coming up is between two guys who have like an 18 pound weight difference between the two. WTF? Why is the weight difference so much?
Anyhow, believe it or not it seems like most of the people there are Polish. The Polish fighter (against the South Korean) is getting cheered as if he’s GSP in Montreal! I kid you not.

There’s NO WAY I can get anyone to throw down cash for this freakshow.
Yeah, I noticed all the Polish people.. and how crazy proud they are to be Polish. I’m not knockin’ it, but why would you travel that far to see awful fights? Or if they’re local, why are you so proud to be Polish that you’ve got blankets and stuff?

Haha. Well, that’s how sports fans are across the world. I know that you don’t watch stuff like soccer, but those fans commonly love to wear their country’s colors (blankets, banners, etc.) when, for example, their country’s team competes against another team. That kind of stuff is no surprise at all.

Well, maybe it’s just a cultural thing… I have NO explanation as to why the announcers are SINGING this Green Day entrance song. I swear, I am not making any of this up, folks. Tara came out to Boulevard of Broken Dreams, and the announcers start drunkenly singing the song as if they all just downed multiple shots of vodka and are at the local karaoke doing a group sing-a-long. It’s amazing… oh, and the graphics for the tale of the tape made it look like the two girls were on fire, literally. I knew this would be high comedy, and I am not let down at all.

From what I can tell
It’s some uninformed announcer calling a flurry of punches, which is then followed by Bas making fun of them. Then again, I may be wrong..

God, this pay per view is awful! That is all… and good Lord, they just showed Butterbean in the cage after this horrible opener. He looks to be even larger than he was in YAMMA, and he was like 420 pounds during that pay per view.
and yes, Bas is HAMMERED. Not to over-use this joke, but he’s at a Felix-level intoxication already! No offense, Mr. Felix, but that comparison is SO apt here. He’s had more than a few vortex bottle beers, and I’m sure he’s continuing the consumption of alcohol throughout the PPV too.
And even the dude doing post-fight interviews is a stumbling bumbling fool. This is TRBL… and Bas wants to BANG~! all the ringcard girls, whom they just showed and to be blunt, they look to be all from the truck stop strip club in town!

Well, I got back here, and the main event is about to start. Mariuz… um, I mean… “that strong Polish guy”… yeah, his entrance is pretty great, with some Polish rapper coming out first to sling some rhymes, then That Strong Polish Guy came out.
By the way, I heard that like an hour ago, the arena ran out of beer… figures. Then, I hear that for Roxanne’s fight, the pay per view graphic spelled her name wrong! Between that and plugging for something that sounds like “Vicious Cheese”, I need to try and see this entire PPV in full, as it’s so great, and it sounds better than ShoSportfight

Well, the main event was as bad as you’d imagine, but at least it came across as a big deal there, with the crowd going monkey**** crazy for it and them even doing the national anthems for Poland and the USA beforehand. But damn, That Strong Polish Guy has the worst MMA cardio I’ve ever seen in my life.

Gotta love the dark red color he turned when he was just sort of leaning into Sylvia. I don’t know what the Vicious Cheese thing was all about, but they got their moneys worth out of it because hey, we’re talking about it!

Yeah
The first half of R1 was like Sylvia/Vera, and after Mariusz got tired he just whomped on him. Second round started the same, but Herb pulled them off the cage because Mariusz was holding the fence; Sylvia threw a knee and boy just dropped, Tim jumped on top and looked like Ben Askren on top of him, eventually tapping him to strikes.

I just started watching SportFight… err, I mean Challengers, and from reading the recent comments, I’m glad that I didn’t start watching it before. I mean, this referee alone is aggravating me, and then there’s the commentary… what a night for MMA this is. Thank goodness Rampage vs. Rashad is next Saturday. Also, thank goodness that Coy vs. Woodley has been entertaining.
