nelson is really at 11? i sure hope that reflects in the moneyline when he fights jds.

i was thinking maybe around -225 jds but hopefully it will be lower. it should be if jds is 5th compared to nelson’s 11th.

they’re too fragile. Go figure.

That's true

But the dicision is just generally awful. I mean, the level of competition from 1-5 is good, but besides that Overeem is the only good fighter in the top ten. Outside of the top ten, things fall off REALLY quick too.

here we go again

I love Fedor, but, damn. How can he be #1? In his last 10 fights, he has beaten 2 fighters that werent on the downside of their career, or, werent just circus fights. Come on, even the biggest Fedor nuthugger can admit this. I understand Fedor being in the top 10, and fully agree, but, 1 is an insult. I am open to anyone making a case, Im not trolling, seriously, how can Fedor be number 1?

Ok, let's compare him to Lesnar

Who is all of 4-1 in his career and has only fought once in the past year.

He’s #1 because of a combination of him being great, and doing great things, and the rest of the division not doing anything. Get Lesnar fighting a few times a year and you’ll see things change.

How can Fedor be number 1?

1) Undefeated with his only lose from an illegal blow in a tourny and thus had to be a winner and loser.
2)His last three wins were decent comp, not great but not bottom of the barrel.
3)He hit Rogers so hard Vegas was taking odds on if Rogers would wake up in time for the weigh in last Thuresday.
4)He hit Arlovski so hard that I saw his mouth piece on Ebay from a guy who said he caught it when it flew out and his seats were in the last row of the Honda Center.
5)He has beaten the best of the best that has been infront of him.

So, Rogers, Arlovski and Timmah are decent competition for the #1 rated HW?

At the time Fedor fought Rogers, he was coming into the fight undefeated. So, for the sake of Brett, I wont persue him. Rogers was the only legit fight Fedor has accepted since Cro Cop in august 2005. The HW landscape has change alot since Fedor fought legit comp. Rogers is top 20 at best, Arlovski gets KO’d everytime the wind blows and Timmah is Timmah. I like Fedor, Im just not convinced he is the best HW right now. I never implied that Lesnar was the best either. I just have a hard time accepting Fedor at #1 in the world. His accomplishments from 5 years ago can only hold water for so long. It appears Fedor will be considered #1 til he retires.

For me there's really no wrong order for the top 4 UFC heavyweights

That may change if JDS starches Big Country, but until then they are interchangeable.
Personally my money on who’s the future is Brown Pride, the guy is all game face all the time.

Rankings and dream fights.

Overeem in my opinion is a very underated fighter. He is big, agile and I really believe when you look at how he matches up could really be a force if he moved into the UFC. His wrestling is great, flexibility great, strength great and he is a very smart fighter. Show me how Brock lesnar or Shane Carwin would defeat him because i dont see it. Overpower him-no, outwit him-no, Out quick him- no (he is a true MesoMorph) He has become a very seasoned vet and has really became in my opinion one of the most well rounded and best Hwt ever (although still underrated)

Fedor is probably the best match-up against him and it is very tough to ever go against Fedor (He is the giant killer). Having said that if someone was to be able to beat fedor it would be Overeem.

Dream Matchups- Fedor vs Overeem
Velasquez vs Lesnar
JDS vs Carwin
Overeem vs Lesnar
