The last REAL 205 champion was Chuck Liddell.
Chuck Liddell title defenses > Quinton Jackson’s 1 successful title defense > Griffin | Evans | Machida*

ehhh
Liddell the comp that Liddell defended against isn’t even close to what these guys are facing nowadays though.

it was still the best at the time in the UFC, it wasn't as deep as Prides 205 division
but it’s not like he was fighting scrubs

right
they were the best in the UFC….but they were not the best LHW’s in the world…..NOW the LHW champ in the UFC is fighting the VERY best of the best…

Agreed,
But look I’ve said it before and i’m sure I’ll have to say it a thousand times but have you looked at Babalu’s record? The guy has been in their with the best fighters in the world and beaten alot of guys that are considered p4p, just because Chuck made whoopin his ass look easy doesn’t mean that he wasn’t one of the greats at the time. and before the first Tito fight Tito had been beating some badasses Belfort, Silva, Tanner(at the time), etc. I agree that Pride had the best LHW and Liddell went over there and KO’d Overreem and yes he got handled by Jackson,(nothing to be ashamed of) and before he got the belt he was a world beater. LIddell 2nd most dominant LHW of all time.

ehh
I’ve never felt the hype with Babalu..his biggest win is over a green Shogun Rua…and taking Fedor to a decision…which is sort of impressive..but that was before Fedor was Fedor….even before Chuck kicked his head off at UFC 40….he was 1-2 in his last three fights…with the only win being over Elvis Sinosic via UD…..yes..he was 35 wins…but like a huge majority of them are against mediocre guys.

Is Chael mediocre I guess is the question
Chael’s game hasn’t changed at all as far as I’m concerned and he kicked his ass(Now Chael has lost to some questionable guys but he also beat some of the best middleweights in the UFC) If they were to fight again do you think it would go any different? Chael just beat the two top contenders in the UFC middleweight division. Chael would get owned again by Babalu. But I’m sure your tired of arguing this.(it’s like our 3rd time)

Well
considering that Sonnen is a MW…shouldn’t Babalu beat him?

and even though I don't think he was the champ at the time
The Overreem fight was pretty impressive

wow, I didn't get to see the card but my buddy texted and all it said was Machida got rapped
I see that was actually the case.

yeah man when I saw him go down I was speechless…lol, I had just told my sister this fight was going to be good and probably last all five rounds, then Shogun just whoops up on him…I don’t think the Machida era is over though, I still think he could actually do the same thing to Shogun but it seems like he needs his confidence back
