UFC Announces Kimbo Slice vs. Matt Mitrione For UFC 113 In Montreal

Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson

Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson

From UFC.com:

Canada will get their first dose of the Kimbo Slice phenomenon on Saturday, May 8th, when the Ultimate Fighter alumnus looks to make it 2-0 in the Octagon on the UFC 113: Machida vs Shogun 2 card at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

Slice (4-1), fresh off his three round unanimous decision victory over Houston Alexander at the TUF10 finale last December, will be in with a familiar foe on May 8th, as he takes on his Ultimate Fighter castmate, Matt Mitrione in a heavyweight bout made official today

If this announcement holds true, then Strikeforce can at least breathe a little sigh of relief, as a Slice fight on April 17th would have really hurt them ratings wise.  I think Mitrione could give Kimbo some problems in this fight.  What say you?

has kimbo been training all that much since his last fight? I see he’s been doing lots of promotional appearences in vegas and all but nothing on his training. If not it could be an early night for kimbo in montreal. I just dont get the impression that kimbo is all that dedicated to MMA just there for publicity and the $$$$. Oh well I’ll be there to see it

Man there’s a bigger risk with this fight than I think the UFC brass realizes… a) Mitrione won’t get some magical boost in drawing power for beating Kimbo b) Kimbo, ironically, doesn’t seem to have much of a “beard” on him and c) Meathead, if nothing else, hits like a mack truck…

Then again there’s not much they can do with Mr. Ferguson at this point other than to profit off of him a few times more and toss hiss ass on the trash heap

Talk to the hand... ask it about when it slapped your mother

If kimbo losses what do they have left for him? Maybe a fight with Toney. If he losses that he’s back to being a bouncer for some porn company

Dude’ll probably go to Japan and peddle breakfast cereals, Bob Sapp-style…

Man

Kimbo could lose this fight…and they’d still keep him…the guy draws regardless of winning or losing….and yea…Meathead might take his faceoff like Nicholas Cage.

Meathead by KO in the first.

help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs...

Mitrione does have those “Go Go Gadget” arms. (ridiculous reach) Not much of any ground game, though.

yeah but its not like Kimbo is going to look to take this fight to the ground.

Meathead with a quick KO in the first.

Just Kidding

If kimbo couldn’t properly attempt one of the easiest submissions on Houston, I doubt I will see an armbar or an RNC. But maybe a Jorgenson like guillotine? :)
