XFC 10 "Night of the Champions" took place last night in Tampa, Florida. North Carolina's own Jarrod Card defeated Jason Wood in the main event via rear naked choke. MMA veteran Junior Assuncao was also victorious via guillotine choke in the first round. The full results are below:
-Andrew Connors defeated Jean Colon via Submission(Rear Naked Choke) at 2:07 of Rd. 1
-Marcio Armeli defeated Julien Williams via KO at :19 of Rd. 1
-Jason Carapelluci defeated Jarrett Becks via Unanimous Decision
-Chris Barnett defeated Kenny Garner via TKO at 1:36 of Rd. 3
-Bruce Connors defeated Derek Schiffer via Unanimous Decision
-Frankhad Sharipov defeated Gilbert Burgos via Submission(Armbar) at 1:07 of Rd. 3
-Junior Assuncao defeated John Mahlow via Submission(Guillotine) at 4:02 of Rd. 1
-Gerardo Julio Gallegos defeated Shane Primm via TKO at :34 of Rd. 1
-Jarrod Card defeated Jason Wood via Submission(Rear Naked Choke) at 4:07 of Rd. 2

Got robbed!
Junior Assuncao had good skills, but his win, was from the ref stopping the fight. No where in the replay did John Mahlow tap and when the ref called it. Both fighters looked at the ref like what happened! Then Junior jumped up and ran around, like he knew John tapped, total crap.

When they finally showed it from the side angle where the ref stood, you could see the tap (showed one on Junior’s leg, if I remember it correctly). It wasn’t real clear cut from any vantage point but given Mahlow’s reaction, I figure he did get submitted.
That Barnett/Deuce fight was sloppy but Voice/Guy nailed it…was pretty entertaining.
I enjoyed that card. Gotta love that smaller shows give us solid fights – don’t need huge names/payrolls to enjoy some good MMA.
