Bobby Lashley Likely For April Strikeforce CBS Card
From MMAJunkie:
Fast-rising heavyweight prospect Bobby Lashley (5-0 MMA, 1-0 SF), a former WWE and TNA "professional wrestler" who's posted an undefeated MMA record, is likely to earn a spot on the upcoming "Strikeforce: Nashville" event.
Sources close to the organization told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that Strikeforce officials plan to book the fighter for the April 17 card.
No opponent has been determined, though an announcement could come within the next week.
I wrote back in mid-January that it's time for Bobby Lashley to face some legitimate competition, and after watching the gimmie fight against Wes Sims I have to say I was 1,000% correct. We have learned absolutely nothing in regards to what Lashley is capable of in MMA, and Strikeforce needs to step up to the plate this go around. This fight will likely air on CBS, and it'll be imperative that Lashley fight well and do so against someone who at least looks like they want to be in there with him. I think Mike Kyle and Mike Whitehead are available. Line'em up.
On another note, this should provide a slight boast to the ratings potential of the card on CBS. While Lashley is no Brock Lesnar, his name should draw in a few fans to the broadcast and Strikeforce needs every eyeball it can get.

![According to MMAJunkie
Diaz is going to fight at an event planned for Oct. 9 currently dubbed "Strikeforce: San Jose." But he will compete welterweight, and Miller is not his opponent.
Instead, recent winner K.J. Noons, who defeated Diaz nearly three years ago for the EliteXC lightweight title, is expected to get a shot at belt.
UPDATE by Matt Bishop [8/25/10 at 1:13 p.m. ET]: It's official via a Strikeforce press release and they have offered some quotes.
"Nick has no class, he’s a bum, a piece of (expletive) and he and his team disrespected my family and I with their gestures and trash talk and tried to upstage my fight,’’ said Noons after the near-fracas (in 2008).
Offered Diaz: "I’m sorry about what happened in the cage afterward, but I didn’t start it. His guys were talking (expletive) to us.’’
