Who here thinks Phil Davis could be an extremely successful mma fighter? He has got to be one of the biggest lhw i have ever scene. He is great at smothering people but if he could learn how to use his elbows more he could be brutal. I like what i saw. I'll be waiting for his next fight.

i liked how he didn’t just lay on him. he was going for submissions. i have no problem with a guy riding out top position and getting takedowns if he’s looking to finish. people are making it sound like he pulled a Rashad/Thiago and did nothing on the ground, which simply is not true. i can off the top of my head recall him going for an inverted armbar, and a couple other sub attempts.

the only thing that was missing was some serious elbows.
once he gets that he is going to put the hurt on many lhw contenders. it was his first televised ufc event. no doubt he will get better. definitely looking forward to who he fights next.
