UFC president Dana White and company expect UFC 109: Couture vs. Coleman to do 385,000 PPV buys. Also says that UFC 108 did 420,000 buys and could go up to 450,000 after everything(replays, etc) are tallied. What say you? More or less than 385k?

The countdown show had the second highest rating of all time….right behind the UFC 100 countdown show…with almost 900k viewers…I wonder if it taking place on Superbowl weekend will help?

There’s no way UFC 108 did 420,000 PPV buys. That’s a statement on par with Couture being a top 5 LHW.

If you hadn't said it
I was going to. Makes me wonder how many other PPVs Dana has lied about the numbers…
I'm the kind of girl who loves to watch a GOOD fight!

I agree
I wish there was an independent site, like Nielsen or something, that showed actual PPV data.

meltzer
said 108 did 300k and he’s always been pretty reliable. i think 109 will did a little more, but not much. 325-350 tops. the countdown did 881000 views, the biggest ever since 100, but i think that had alot to do with the 107 reply right before it.

The card is weak and the UFC are looking to Randy to carry the draw for this but I don’t think the interest is there for Randy at this point of his career. 320K max

Shocking, Dana is promoting
Like BDW mentioned, Meltzer is pretty much the standard for numbers here, and unless he says anything updating his original figure, I don’t see ANY reason to deviate from it. I mean come on, Dana is also the same guy who said that Lesnar/Cantwell may never fight again, and that Nover will be the next Anderson Silva. The man is promoting, or at the very least trying to make 108 look a little less pitiful.
I expect 109 to do around 400k; it’s not a great card, but at least Couture is still a draw by himself. Sort of. I guess.

!["Mir is a [expletive] idiot! I have never heard something so unprofessional and idiotic in my life," told Carmichael Dave of KHTK in Sacramento.
Dana White responds in regards to Frank Mir saying that he wanted to break Brock Lesnar's neck and for him to die in the octagon.
