UFC 111 Fight Line Up Official With 11 Fights

UFC 111: St. Pierre vs. Hardy

UFC 111: St. Pierre vs. Hardy

The UFC will be returning to the east coast on March 27th, 2010.  The event will take place in Newark, New Jersey at the Prudential center with Georges St. Pierre set to defend his UFC welterweight title against rising British star Dan Hardy.  In the co-main event Shane Carwin will take on former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir for the UFC Interim Heavyweight title.  The winner of that fight will take on current UFC champion Brock Lesnar as he returns from a career threatning illness.  Also, a re-match between top 5 welterweights Jon Fitch and Thiago Alves will be featured on the card.  Jon Fitch stopped Thiago Alves via TKO in their first match up back in 2006.  Alves hasn't fought since losing a unanimous decision to champion Georges St. Pierre at UFC 100.  The full lineup is below:

-Georges St-Pierre vs. Dan Hardy (Welterweight title)

-Shane Carwin vs. Frank Mir (Interim Heavyweight title)

-Thiago Alves vs. Jon Fitch

-Martin Kampmann vs. Ben Saunders

-Mark Bocek vs. Jim Miller

Star-divide

Prelims

-Nate Diaz vs. Rory Markham

-Ricardo Almeida vs. Matt Brown

-Fabricio Camoes vs. Kurt Pellegrino

-Jared Hamman vs. Rodney Wallace

-Tomasz Drwal vs. Rousimar Palhares

-Ricardo Funch vs. Matthew Riddle

Also, it's expected that "UFC Prelims" will be in effect for this event with at least two fights airing LIVE on Spike TV.  Nate Diaz vs. Rory Markham and Ricardo Almeida vs. Matt Brown would be the likely candidates with Diaz and Brown being participants on The Ultimate Fighter and both have been featured on main cards before.
