I’m not one to call him the next champion or anything, but I am very impressed. A couple impressive things worth noting about Mr. Velasquez that I find especially impressive:
1. He comes across to me as fairly humble. I don’t know the guy (or any of these guys) enough to say for sure. But from what I can tell about his personality I like the guy.
2. It’s not just that he hasn’t lost yet. I keep thinking it’s coming (as it does/has for everyone) in order to see if he can learn from it and come back stronger. but he just keeps winning. Not only that. He hasn’t lost a round. I’m unsure if there is a heavyweight that I’ve seen have a better first 8 professional fights.
WHOA!!!!! NOG in the UFC
- He stands directly in front of you.
- His punches looks good when he’s fighting a 46 year old heavyweight former champion that can cut weight to 205lbs.
- I repeat, no leg movement and no head movement.
I really do believe that Frank Mir would do the exact same thing if he face Nogueira again. Sorry, I like Nog but . . .
yes, some times I'm an old curmudgeon
Cain
Oh yeah, he did look impressive in this fight. I liked the use of the leg kicks.
