Randy Couture vs. Rich Franklin Could Main Event UFC 115 In Vancouver

Randy Couture, fresh off his submission win over fellow hall of famer Mark Coleman may be heading back to the Octagon this June to take on former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin, according to a source with knowledge of the discussions. The fight is in the early planning stages and it is not clear whether either fighter has verbally committed to the bout.
I know a lot of people complained about the Couture vs. Coleman main event at UFC 109. However, is this a worthy main event also? Franklin will be coming off the 1st round TKO loss to Vitor Belfort at UFC 103, and will also be coming back from hernia surgery he had last month. Franklin's a borderline top ten light heavyweight in most rankings. I think this is a good fight stylistically for Couture in that Franklin doesn't have devastating KO power and has problems in the clinch(albeit it was a different type of clinch than Couture will present). The rumored fight card for UFC 115:
-Randy Couture vs. Rich Franklin
-Tito Ortiz vs. Chuck Liddell
-Carlos Condit vs. Rory MacDonald
-Tyson Griffin vs. Evan Dunham
-Pat Barry vs. Gilbert Yvel
-James Wilks vs. Peter Sobotta

Well we all know that Couture is a TOP 5 LHW fighter, right? And we know that he wasn’t damaged in UFC 109. So why not have Couture replace Belfort in a 205lbs. fight against Anderson Silva.

This is a dream fight and I can’t wait to see it go down nice job Joe Silva. Anyways people are insane if they think Randy is going to take this Rich’s striking is way too technical and Couture isn’t going to be able to smother him like he did Vera. This will be a great highlight fight like against Wand, expect Franklin to pick apart Randy and win the decision and move up the LHW ranks.
