Kampmann Out, Jake Ellenberger In vs. Ben Saunders At UFC 111

UFC Welterweight Jake Ellenberger

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) learned of the change from sources close to the bout, though the UFC has yet to make an official announcement.

The Kampmann vs. Saunders bout was slated for the main card of UFC 111, which takes place March 27 in Newark, N.J. It's currently unknown if the organization will adjust the bout order following the change.

Kampmann was forced to withdraw after suffering an undisclosed injury in training. Sources close to the fighter assured MMAjunkie.com that the injury was not severe and that Kampmann could return as soon as May, but there was simply no way for the Danish striker to remain on the March card.

I hope Kampmann recovers from whatever the injury is, but I'm HYPED that Ellenberger is getting this opportunity. I was really impressed with his performance against Carlos Condit on short notice, and he put away a tough Mike Pyle at UFC 108. A win against Saunders on this card would give him even more exposure and credibility. Saunders will have a huge reach advantage, but Ellenberger has dynamite in his hands and could be a little more powerful overall than Saunders. Excellent replacement. Who you got?

I got Killa B ! Great replacement though. Probably a tougher fight overall but Ben has the necessary tools to win this.

I like Saunders

but I’m rooting for Ellenberger in this one!

I can’t stand Saunders at all and I hope Jake wrecks him in brutal fashion.

Some people are like Slinkies... not really good for anything, but you still can't
help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs...

i think ellenberger is a tougher opponent(striking wise) but i think saunders can get him in the clinch......

and devastate him with those kness. i hope saunders has the right game plan. he has the height and reach advantage. i just hope he jabs alot in the first round. when ellenberger faced condit he went full blast and almost got the knockout in the first round but he got weaker in the second and third rounds.
